Job description

The Role:
Senior Forensic Mechanical Engineers evaluate distress to existing MEP systems, machinery, and/or equipment. This role oversees all aspects of investigative projects including coordinating with clients, performing site visits, managing resources, writing reports, conducting root cause analyses, reviewing building codes, and setting deadlines to ensure project deliverables are submitted in a professional and timely manner.
The ideal candidate has an established client network and has a strong track record of building rapport and maintaining lasting client relationships.
In This Role, You Will:
  • Lead projects and serve as the primary point of contact
  • Coordinate site visits, resources, and timelines to keep projects on track
  • Conduct site visits and testing to gather data across property types
  • Perform site visits and lab examinations to collect data on residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
  • Produce reports that combine inspection, testing, and analysis data to identify root cause and make recommendations on repair or replacement.
  • Support regional growth through recruiting and business development
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while generating new work
  • Partner with business development on conferences and client outreach
  • Review and interpret relevant building codes as necessary for issues about the scope of work.
  • Oversee the development of repair or replacement design scope, as needed.
  • Make independent decisions for projects including selection of analysis and testing methods and allocating resources relevant to the project.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Active PE license
  • 10+ years of forensic mechanical engineering experience or relevant design experience
  • Proven ability to write comprehensive technical reports on inspection results
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
