The Commercial Forecasting & Operations Area Lead supports

delivering accurate forecasting and ensures product availability of the Commercial Organization. The Commercial Forecasting & Operations Area Lead will gather forecasting information and provides data-driven recommendations to resolve operational issues across the organization.


Key Accountabilities

  • Commercial Forecasting & Operations Creates the market's demand forecast in partnership with the Market Director, who is ultimately accountable for the forecast
  • Attends and participates in weekly operations call and monthly working sessions with each Market Director to finalize the forecast with Commercial input
  • Consolidates supply, depletion, and allocation forecasts for respective states/geographies
  • Ensure communication and secures distributor alignment with ordering, allocation and shipment
  • Contributes to ad-hoc reporting on inventory & operations by providing recommendations to resolve operational issues
  • Commercial Enablement Supply Chain Support
  • Relay critical information from supply chain team to commercial team and distributors (e.g. SKU transition calendar, innovation launches, vintage transition, inventory availability, etc.)
  • Track consumption vs. allocation, coordinate with distributor and markets to utilize full allocations
  • Clearly monitor inventory at the distributor and relay information to supply chain team with goal of maintaining a DOI target for markets
  • Update supply chain team with comm. programs inventory needs to ensure correct supply available
  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting on inventory & partner with supply chain team to resolve operational issues
  • Support and participate in distributor S&OP
  • KPI Management Achieve and provide KPIs and sets targets in partnership with Trade Marketing/Customer
  • Programming Collects and harmonizes distributor KPIs
  • Execute regular, consistent reporting of performance against KPIs with Distributors
  • Targets, tracks, and executes postmortem analytics metrics
  • Tool Training & Support Trains the Commercial Sales team and Brand teams on tools: Anaplan, SAP, Power BI
  • Coordinates and advises on forecasting reporting to internal teams and advises best practices


Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required

  • Education Bachelorโ€™s degree or relevant industry experience required
  • Professional Experience 3+ years of experience in Operations or Planning, preferable in the luxury consumer goods or U.S. wines and spirits industries.
  • Practical/ Technical Knowledge Strong project management experience and skills including goal setting and forward planning
  • Understanding of data & analytics: Ability to apply knowledge and direct application of data & analytics to strategy-setting and commercial use cases
  • People development skills preferred
  • Demonstrated commercial expertise
  • Advanced understanding and experience with data and financial analysis
  • Knowledge of Anaplan & SAP
  • Overall revenue, margin, and growth
  • Quality, execution, and timeliness of business materials (e.g., KPIs, goals, budgets, etc.)
