Summary:

The Senior Business Analyst serves as a cross-functional partner responsible for understanding business needs, improving processes, optimizing business systems, governing data, maintaining document management systems, training users, and delivering insights that support informed decision-making. Working closely with Finance, Sales, Customer Care, Marketing, Operations, Accounting, Field Service, and IT, this role gathers and translates business requirements, analyzes and documents processes, coordinates system enhancements, and promotes the consistent and effective use of business tools, data, and workflows. The Business Analyst leverages customer, product, pricing, margin, forecasting, pipeline, sales, and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and process improvement initiatives. Through analysis and reporting, this role provides actionable recommendations that drive business performance and support strategic and operational decision-making. By connecting business needs with processes, systems, reporting, and data, the Senior Business Analyst improves visibility, efficiency, accuracy, data integrity, and overall organizational effectiveness.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Enterprise Reporting & Business Analytics

  • Analyze business performance across customers, products, pricing, sales channels, territories, margin, profitability, and customer activity to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring reports, dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting for leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support monthly business reviews and ad hoc analysis by translating complex data into meaningful insights and decision-ready recommendations.

Sales, Customer & Profitability Analysis

  • Analyze sales performance, customer acquisition and attrition, product mix, profitability, pricing, and ordering behavior to support business growth and customer retention initiatives.
  • Provide reporting and analysis for sales teams, distributors, strategic accounts, and customer programs.
  • Support sales incentive and commission reporting, including data validation, exception review, approved adjustments, and distribution.

Forecasting & Business Planning

  • Support forecasting and pipeline management through analysis of historical demand, order trends, customer activity, and sales opportunities.
  • Consolidate forecast and funnel data into meaningful management reporting and identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and visibility.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, and Customer Care to enhance forecasting processes and business planning activities.

Pricing, Data Management & Business Systems

  • Coordinate pricing updates, product changes, customer assignments, and related reporting activities.
  • Maintain and validate customer, territory, product, pricing, and organizational data across ERP, CRM, Power BI, and related systems.
  • Investigate data discrepancies, coordinate corrections, and support ongoing data governance and system integrity initiatives.

Document Management & Business Process Support

  • Administer the company's document management system, including controlled business documents, contracts, workflows, metadata, security, and retention requirements.
  • Gather business requirements, recommend solutions, and partner with stakeholders to improve document management processes and governance.
  • Develop documentation, procedures, and training materials and provide user support to ensure consistent adoption and compliance.

CRM, Data Governance & Reporting Support

  • Serve as a business-facing resource for CRM, ERP, Power BI, Alteryx, and related reporting processes.
  • Promote data quality through standardized processes, controls, audits, and user training.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to resolve reporting issues, improve data accuracy, and support system enhancements.

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Projects

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, reporting, data visibility, and user experience across business processes.
  • Support business requirements gathering, testing, implementation, communication, and training for process and system improvements.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in business analysis, sales operations, business intelligence, financial analysis, data analytics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, business intelligence, database, and enterprise reporting systems required. Experience with Infor CSI (SyteLine), Infor CRM SLX, Power BI, and Alteryx preferred.
  • Experience supporting process improvement, data governance, system enhancements, or automation initiatives preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret large and complex data sets.
  • Knowledge of sales analytics, forecasting, pricing, profitability analysis, business performance measurement, and data governance principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; experience with reporting, data visualization, and business intelligence tools.
  • Ability to gather requirements, document processes, support system enhancements, develop training materials, and manage cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, exercise sound judgment, and communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

Working Conditions:

This position is primarily remote and offers flexibility in work location. On-site attendance will be required periodically based on business needs, including meetings, training, team collaboration, system support, and strategic business initiatives. When on-site, work is performed primarily in an office environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing operations. The successful candidate must be able to collaborate effectively across departments and maintain a high level of responsiveness, communication, and productivity in both remote and on-site settings

Travel Requirements:

This position requires limited travel, estimated at approximately 5% annually, or one to two trips per year, based on business needs. Travel may include industry events, conferences, training programs, business meetings, professional development or other business-related activities. Travel schedules will vary based on organizational priorities.
