Overview
Since 1979, Insight for Living has been committed to excellence in teaching the study and application of God's Word. Chuck Swindoll and his wife, Cynthia, began the ministry by broadcasting Chuck's Bible-teaching program, Insight for Living, on 18 stations. Today, the program airs on over 2,000 stations, can be streamed through various online channels, and can be heard in 70 countries and eight languages.
We also produce quality Bible-study resources, have a dynamic online presence, provide pastoral counseling, and actively walk alongside listeners through life's challenges. As a ministry, we're committed to Vision 195, our strategic mission to pursue Jesus' Great Commission by extending God's grace and making disciples in all 195 countries and their 6,875 heart languages.
In addition to our international headquarters in Frisco, TX, we currently have ministry offices in 10 countries, where our pastors translate resources, train church leaders to use Chuck's Searching the Scriptures Bible-study methods, serve their communities, and pursue Vision 195 in their languages. Position Summary
The Coffee Shop barista provides outstanding customer experiences through serving specialty coffee and food while building and fostering customer relationships. Performing duties in an effective and efficient manner, the barista maintains the highest standards of quality and excellence in all functions. A proactive self-starter, this individual takes full ownership of all Coffee Shop duties while promoting and supporting the mission of Insight for Living (IFL).
Core Job Functions
Coffee Preparation and Delivery (25%)
  • Prepares and delivers drinks to order and according to specialty coffee standards
  • Encourages a healthy, productive, and customer-oriented environment
  • Upholds Coffee Shop best practices related to customer experiences, daily operations, health and safety, inventory, and merchandising
  • Maintains effective documentation of all relevant items related to daily operations, inventory, expiration dates, waste, and maintenance/repair
  • Receives and checks inventory upon delivery
  • Stocks all products each day and informs lead barista and/or manager regarding inventory needs

Customer Interactions (20%)
  • Welcomes and acknowledges all customers cheerfully
  • Regulates and expresses emotions appropriately (Ephesians 4:26)
  • Interacts with customers in a healthy, positive manner (Romans 12:18)
  • Interacts intentionally with customers in friendly, engaging, and professional ways
