Job description

The College Football Hall of Fame is seeking a Director of Sponsorship Sales to join our team to effectively drive strategic business partnerships to meet our revenue goals. This individual must be self-motivated with proven experience in generating revenue from corporate partnerships and have demonstrated creativity in developing valuable partnership opportunities by leveraging available assets or creating new ones.
General Summary of the Role, Responsibilities, and Key Performance Areas:
  • Develop fully integrated, customized sponsorship platforms based on the specific and unique business challenges for each prospect, utilizing all assets to help fulfill the client business objectives.
  • Pioneer new categories, inventory, campaigns and partner integrations
  • Draw on a list of contacts developed from past sponsorship experiences and develop/cultivate new corporate marketing prospects to pursue revenue.
  • Research, prospect and establish leads for corporate relationships followed by an introductory needs analysis/discovery meeting utilizing a consultative sales approach.
  • Communicate with executive staff and stakeholders to coordinate meetings and touchpoints throughout the sales process.

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Abilities:
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple customers and meet short deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working corporate relationships with senior level managers/clients
  • Self-motivated team player with a proven ability to work with aggressive individual and team sales goals
  • Proven track record pitching, negotiating and closing long-term six to seven figure partnerships
  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of sports marketing and types of sponsor inventory
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Possess superior negotiation skills coupled with a net profit bottom line mentality
  • Must be creative, detail oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and be willing to learn
  • Solutions oriented problem-solving mentality a must

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience with corporate sponsorship experience a plus

Travel Requirements:
  • 15-20% travel required
  • Capable and available to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary and attend conferences and special events as needed
