Job description

SUMMARY STATEMENT

The part-time Food Service Worker is responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the Campus Food Services. While completing the various tasks involved, every Food Service employee must provide good customer service and encourage a student friendly atmosphere.

Please note, this is a part-time position for 29 hours per week.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

A. The part-time Food Service Worker reports directly to the Lead Food Service Worker or the Food Service Manager and coordinates most closely with the Lead Food Service Worker in carrying out assigned duties and responsibilities.

B. This position shares the responsibilities of student aides during operation business hours.

DUTIES

A. Prepares daily breakfast, lunch, and other items and serves them.

B. Cleans the kitchen and serves areas in order to maintain sanitary standards.

C. Washes dishes, pots, and pans after each meal period.

D. Operates cash register and makes deposits at the end of the day. End of day deposit includes counting and balancing register drawers with end-of-day reports.

E. Assists in the preparation and serving of menus for special College sponsored functions.

F. Assists other employees in the Hilltop Grill with any tasks as assigned by the Lead Food Service Worker or Food Service Manager.

G. Responsible for making sure all stock and supplies are locked and secure when business hours are over.

H. At the end of the work week, the closer compiles temperature checklists and gets new worksheets ready for upcoming week.

I. Preps and stocks supplies for next business day.

J. Assist Food Service Manager and/or Lead Food Service Worker in preparing orders for pre-approved vendors.

K. Organize and complete daily cleaning lists scheduled for the Hilltop Grill.

L. Assist with food preparation, set-up and clean-up for catered events on campus.
