Position Details
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The Department of Human Sciences at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a qualified instructor in the ACEND-accredited undergraduate B.S. Food Science and Nutrition program. Duties will include teaching one or more undergraduate lecture and/or lecture/lab courses for the Fall 2026 semester.
Lecturer-Pool faculty are term positions hired to teach one to four courses per semester. Lecturer-Pool faculty hiring is based on student demand, and on a semester-by-semester basis.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Applicants must have a Master's degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Dietetics, or a closely related field of study. A minimum of 18 graduate semester hours within the discipline are required.
Experience Required for the Position
Applicants who are Registered Dietitians (R.D.) accredited by the Commission of Dietetic Registration are preferred.
Other Requirements for the Position
Preferred qualifications include experience in dietetic practice and teaching at the college level. Candidates with the ability to teach courses such as Food Preparation and Safety, Cultural Foods, Nutrition, and other ACEND-required courses, are especially encouraged to apply.
