Job description

The Food Project seeks a detail-oriented, reliable, and mission-aligned volunteer to join our team as a Data Entry & Administrative Volunteer. We are looking for someone who strongly believes in our work and wants to make a tangible impact behind the scenes by keeping our donor database and operational processes accurate and up to date. We are looking for dedicated individuals interested in a long-term volunteer commitment who thrive in organized, detail-heavy work and are comfortable asking questions when clarification is needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

DATABASE & DATA ENTRY MANAGEMENT

  • Gift & Donor Processing: Accurately enter gift details, update donor records, and enter new constituent information into Salesforce.
  • Database Maintenance: Perform regular updates to address data and constituent profiles to ensure high data integrity.
  • Process Alignment: Work closely with the Senior Manager of Finance and IT to ensure all established database procedures, workflows, and standards are closely followed.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Provide general administrative support and assist with special operational projects as needed, including:

  • Mailings
  • Document filing
  • Digital organization

QUALIFICATIONS & KEY SKILLS

Technical Skills

  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong typing skills
  • Familiarity with data entry

Organizational Skills

  • Medium to high level of organization
  • Accurate typing/data input
  • Strong attention to detail

Communication: Comfort with asking clarifying questions to ensure processes are carried out accurately.

Alignment: A strong commitment to The Food Project’s mission and values.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE

Location: On-site — Lincoln

Shift Schedule: Thursdays, with available shifts:

  • Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Note: The Food Project welcomes individuals available for one shift or candidates willing to cover both shifts.

Commitment: Preferred long-term volunteer arrangement.
