Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a customer-driven Retail Operations Manager to lead and oversee retail dining operations at Texas Southern University. The Retail Operations Manager will be responsible for driving operational excellence, enhancing the customer experience, increasing retail sales, and ensuring the successful execution of dining programs across multiple retail venues on campus.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in food service, retail management, and team development who thrives in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.

SodexoMagic is the joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer, Earvin "Magic" Johnson and Sodexo. This strategic alliance enables us to deliver creative solutions to our clients along with our local partners throughout the communities we serve. What You'll Do
  • Manage the daily operations of campus retail dining locations, including branded concepts, cafes, convenience stores, and grab-and-go operations;
  • Lead, coach, and develop frontline supervisors and hourly team members to ensure exceptional customer service and operational performance;
  • Drive revenue growth through merchandising, promotions, menu innovation, and strategic marketing initiatives;
  • Monitor financial performance, including labor management, food cost controls, inventory, and budget adherence;
  • Collaborate with culinary, marketing, and procurement teams to execute campus dining initiatives and special events;
  • Ensure compliance with all Sodexo, university, local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation standards.
