Soul Foodies is a fast-paced, scratch-made kitchen specializing in Southern comfort food and Creole classics. We proudly serve our guests through takeout, pickup, delivery, and catering services. As a 24-hour operation, we are committed to delivering exceptional food, outstanding customer service, and accurate orders every time.

Position Summary

Soul Foodies is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Food Expeditor to join our team. The Food Expeditor serves as the final quality control checkpoint before orders leave the kitchen and is responsible for ensuring every order is complete, accurate, properly packaged, and presented according to company standards.

This position requires strong communication skills, a sense of urgency, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment. The Food Expeditor works closely with all kitchen staff, delivery drivers, and customers to ensure a seamless guest experience.

In addition to expediting duties, this position shares many of the same responsibilities as the Cashier, including customer service, phone support, front-of-house cleanliness, stocking, and assisting with daily operations.

Essential ResponsibilitiesFood Expediting & Quality Control
  • Verify every order for accuracy before it leaves the kitchen.
  • Ensure all food items match customer tickets and special requests.
  • Confirm proper portion sizes, presentation, packaging, and food quality standards.
  • Organize orders for pickup, delivery, and catering services.
  • Ensure all condiments, utensils, napkins, sauces, beverages, and additional requested items are included with every order.
  • Communicate effectively with cooks and kitchen staff regarding missing items, modifications, and corrections.
  • Maintain speed and accuracy during high-volume service periods.
  • Serve as the final quality assurance checkpoint for all outgoing orders.
Order Packaging
  • Package all food safely and professionally according to company standards.
  • Label orders accurately for pickup, delivery, and catering.
  • Ensure food temperatures and packaging integrity are maintained.
  • Assemble large orders and catering packages accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor packaging supplies and notify management when inventory is low.
Customer Service
  • Greet all customers promptly and professionally.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with placing orders and answering menu questions.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Resolve minor customer concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Point of Sale & Order Management

Front-of-House Operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional lobby area.
  • Stock and replenish condiments, utensils, napkins, straws, and guest supplies.
  • Ensure beverage coolers and condiment coolers remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Monitor dining and waiting areas for cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries when needed.
Cleaning & Sanitation
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of packaging stations, counters, work surfaces, and front-of-house areas.
  • Empty trash receptacles and transport trash to designated disposal areas.
  • Complete assigned cleaning duties and side work throughout the shift.
  • Ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and ready for service.
Team Support
  • Support all kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assist cooks and prep staff during busy periods when needed.
