Job description

Job Summary

The Project Designer position supports all Design Studio functions from managing multiple simultaneous projects to providing design assistance and troubleshooting solutions for designs. Develops design and construction packages including schematic layouts, design development, construction documents, specifications, spot rough-in utility drawings, etc. Coordinates with manufacturers through the design process to identify and effectively communicate clear design direction for a multitude of Food Service operations in a fast-paced environment. The Project Designer has a strong ability to operate independently however thrives in a Team environment to accomplish set goals.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports Design Team and executes production on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Provides assistance, and troubleshooting solutions for multiple internal clients
  • Develops design and construction packages including but not limited to layouts, specifications, spot rough-ins and utility schedules for commercial kitchen designs
  • Coordinates manufacturer shop drawings for design implementation into active design documents
  • Advances our position within the marketplace through continuous design improvements and offerings
  • Collaborates in Team environment to develop process and design improvement initiatives
  • Engages in daily tracking of progress and show visibility of production on a daily/ weekly basis
  • Receives feedback and implements direction from Senior Level design team members
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Experience
  • Collaborates in Team environments and looks to achieve “Senior Level” accomplishments
  • Has minimum of 5 years of experience in Architecture or Construction related industries
  • Must have strong organization skills and proven ability to excel in Team environments
  • College degree or Certification in Architecture is preferred however not required
  • Possess an analytical, and detailed personality with strong ambition to succeed
  • Experience successfully supporting client initiatives through design lifecycles
  • Has natural ability to see inefficiencies and strategize initiatives accordingly
Education
  • This role does not require a degree. We value relevant skills and experience and alignment with our core values above all else.


Desired Traits & Skills
  • Autodesk Revit experience is required
  • Sketchup experience (preferred not required)
  • Enscape experience (preferred not required)
  • Microsoft Office experience is required
  • Strong communication skills are a must
  • Team player that collaborates at a very high level
  • 4-5 years in Food Service industry (preferred not required)
