About McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality (MML)

At McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality (MML), our mission is to create some of the world's most memorable hospitality experiences-where food, design, service, and storytelling come together seamlessly. Led by Larry McGuire, Tom Moorman, and Liz Lambert, MML is known for its refined, character-driven approach to hospitality, rooted in creativity, quality, and a deep sense of place.

As we continue to grow, we're entering an exciting new chapter. We've welcomed James Beard Award-winning chef April Bloomfield to our culinary leadership team and are bringing new energy to iconic and emerging destinations alike-with projects including the historic Driskill Hotel, Sixth & Blanco, Clark's Malibu, and more on the horizon.

At MML, we're not just building restaurants or hotels-we're crafting spaces that leave a lasting impression.

About the Role

MML is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead our accounting operations and support the continued growth of our hospitality portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and partnering closely with leadership across a dynamic, multi-entity organization.

The ideal candidate brings both technical accounting expertise and an appreciation for the pace and nuance of hospitality. You are detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable balancing structure with creativity in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, cash management, and intercompany transactions
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate audits and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors
  • Partner with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Support new restaurant and hotel openings, acquisitions, and evolving business models
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, system optimization, and scalability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience managing multi-entity accounting environments
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and ERPs (NetSuite experience a plus)
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to see the broader financial picture
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CMA certification
  • Hospitality industry experience (restaurants, hotels, or multi-concept portfolios) strongly preferred
  • Experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial, or creatively driven organizations
  • Experience supporting new openings or complex operational structures

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
  • Opportunity to work alongside industry-leading hospitality and creative professionals
  • A diverse and growing portfolio of iconic and emerging projects
  • A collaborative culture that values craftsmanship, creativity, and excellence

If an offer of employment is extended and accepted for this position, the candidate will be required to undergo a comprehensive background check. This process may include verification of employment history, education credentials, criminal records, and other information relevant to the role.

By applying for this position, you acknowledge and agree that completion of the background check is a condition of employment.
