Regional Sales Manager – Pharmaceutical, Food, Biotechnology

General Description/Purpose:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to grow market share and develop a loyal customer base through direct selling and the utilization of marketing tools to achieve sales forecast targets. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for growing and maintaining sales within an assigned region, including sourcing, training, and developing channel partners. This role will focus on pharmaceutical, food, and biotechnology applications for valves and instrumentation.

Job Duties (includes but is not limited to):

  • Develop, market, and sell all GEMÜ product lines to applicable accounts within the designated region.
  • Utilize and develop various sales channels to promote profitable growth.
  • Identify, contact, and develop new accounts.
  • Prepare presentations and proposals for the GEMÜ product portfolio to be used in on-site presentations and sales calls.
  • Identify decision-makers and communicate key information with the sales team and cross-functional colleagues to coordinate specification work.
  • Support customers, OEMs, end users, engineering firms, and distributors in the region.
  • Perform all related sales tasks as directed by your manager.
  • Forecast requirements, prepare an annual budget, and develop and increase sales revenue to meet sales targets.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain aspects of the marketing plan.
  • Assist with the coordination of trade shows and attend trade shows as requested.
  • Follow up on quotations and provide feedback through CRM.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Work Schedule:

Incumbent should be flexible as some early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required as determined by business need. Some international travel may be required.

Essential Knowledge/Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of sales cycles, effective closing techniques, and negotiation strategies.
  • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, with the ability to maintain accurate client data records.
  • Technical acumen or familiarity with industrial or engineered products.
  • Ability to develop strategic account plans and manage high-value accounts.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English to effectively perform job functions.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and perform well under pressure.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Qualification Standards:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a technical field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience in Regional Sales Management or Key Account Management in the Pharmaceutical or Food & Beverage industry.
