Position Overview:ย 

Under the guidance of the Food and Beverage Manager, the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Food and Beverage Department at Typhoon Texas Houston. This role is key to ensuring exceptional guest service and maintaining outstanding food quality throughout the park. The Assistant Manager supports the department with various administrative, preparatory, and compliance-related responsibilities. Candidates should take a proactive role in problem-solving, be results oriented, lead by example, be able to prioritize, and be a team player in a collaborative environment.ย 


Position Responsibilities:ย 

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage Department to ensure exceptional guest service and the achievement of departmental profitability goals.ย 
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, labor, food, and alcohol regulations. Conduct periodic audits and safety checks to maintain standards.ย ย 
  • Ensure all food & beverage locations have the team members, supplies, training, and support needed to operate efficiently with a focus on leadership and team member development.ย 
  • Manage the food and beverage product lifecycle, including ordering, portioning, rotation, and cost control.ย 
  • Assist with monitoring labor costs by developing and coordinating staffing and scheduling.ย 
  • Create, update, and approve purchase request orders as needed.ย 
  • Monitor and maintain food & beverage safety and sanitation, recipe documentation, execution, and quality controls.ย ย 
  • Follow and enforce Pyek and Typhoon Texas policies and procedures ensuring consistency across all food & beverage outlets.ย 
  • Supervise the resolution of guest complaints and train leadership to ensure a positive guest experience.ย 
  • Assist with developing and revising training materials, operating procedures, and safety protocols.ย 
  • Assist with auditing food & beverage locations, quickly determining and recommending improvements to enhance operations and guest satisfaction.ย 
  • Assist with completing the Food & Beverage Department's monthly inventory and regularly review product quality to enhance food quality and guest satisfaction.ย 
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support and execute year-round special events.ย 
  • Drive sales through approved service programs, upselling strategies, and approved incentive-based initiatives.ย 
  • Provide recommendations to increase revenue, improve profitability, and boost guest satisfaction.ย 
  • Partner with HR to recruit, hire, train, coach, and discipline Food & Beverage Team Members and Leadership.ย ย 
  • Support front-line operations as needed, leading by example to maintain high service standards.ย 
  • Proactively identify and address operational and equipment issues through collaboration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.ย 
  • Other duties as designated by the Food & Beverage Manager, Revenue Manager, Assistant General Manager and/or General Manager.ย ย

Requirements

Qualifications:ย 

  • Must be able to obtain a Food Manager's certification and TABC certification.ย 
  • Minimum of 2 years of food & beverage management experience required.ย 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.ย 
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, early mornings, nights, and holidays.ย ย 
  • May be required to work in various weather conditions, such as direct sunlight, high temperatures, or rain.ย ย ย 
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing over 30 pounds as part of daily responsibilities.ย 
  • May occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, or balance.ย 
  • Must be able to multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.ย 
  • Must be an effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to deliver feedback, share analysis, communicate updates, and lead teams with a positive influence.ย ย 
  • Ability to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and professionalism with attention to detail in a high-volume, guest-focused environment, and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision.ย ย ย 
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in product optimization and strategic purchasing.ย 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with POS and Inventory Systems.ย 
  • 2 years industry experience (Water Park, Theme Park or other related entertainment) strongly preferred.ย 

Education & Experience:ย 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; associate degree preferred.ย ย
