Join Our Team

The Shore and Country Club is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hospitality-focused Food & Beverage Manager to lead our dining and bar operations. This key leadership position is responsible for managing the daily operation of the Dining and Bar outlets at the Club, including hiring, training, and supervising service team members; service delivery; maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary restaurant; developing and implementing strategies to improve and enhance the dining experience; and developing and implementing employee incentive programs. The most critical relationship is that with the leadership team, ensuring a collaborative and harmonious relationship between front- and back-of-house operations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, enjoys building strong teams, and is passionate about creating memorable dining experiences.

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and supervise service team members.
  • Lead and mentor staff to foster a positive and energetic team culture.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to support employee growth and development.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of exceptional service.

Operations Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of all dining and bar outlets.
  • Maintain a visible and active presence on the floor during service periods.
  • Ensure consistent execution of Club service standards and hospitality expectations.
  • Develop staff schedules and manage labor resources effectively.
  • Monitor employee time and attendance through Paycom.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in accordance with Club policies and health regulations.
  • Participate in weekly Food & Beverage leadership meetings and contribute to departmental planning and initiatives.

Beverage Program Oversight

  • Manage all aspects of the beverage program, including menu development, inventory controls, purchasing, and compliance.
  • Ensure completion of monthly beverage inventories and requisitions.
  • Oversee TIPS training and adherence to responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and local liquor laws and regulations.

Member Experience & Club Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with members and guests by providing personalized and attentive service.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to member feedback and service opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Club leadership to enhance dining experiences and support member engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with the development of marketing and promotional efforts, including newsletters, special events, and member communications.

Financial & Strategic Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and management of the annual Food & Beverage budget.
  • Monitor departmental performance and identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Develop and implement employee incentive and recognition programs that support service excellence and operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience in a restaurant, hotel, resort, country club, or similar hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional guest and member service.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and hospitality-related technology systems.
  • Knowledge of beverage operations, wine service, and inventory management preferred.
  • Beverage certifications and TIPS certification are a plus.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, service standards, and hospitality best practices.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, reach, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, and perform the physical demands associated with a busy hospitality environment.
