HDPE Fusion Technician - Mining Operations

Location: Nunavut (FIFO from Quebec)
Industry: Mining
Employment Type: Contract/Temporary
Schedule: FIFO Rotation

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced HDPE Fusion Technician to join our mining operations team in Nunavut. This is a specialized role requiring expertise in high-density polyethylene pipe fusion for critical mining infrastructure. The successful candidate will work on a fly-in, fly-out basis from Quebec, supporting essential pipeline systems in a remote mining environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain T500 fusion equipment for HDPE pipe joining operations
  • Perform precise fusion welding of HDPE pipes ranging from small diameter to large-scale mining applications
  • Utilize Data Logger systems to monitor, record, and verify fusion parameters and quality control metrics
  • Conduct pre-fusion pipe preparation including cleaning, alignment, and inspection
  • Execute fusion procedures following industry standards and mining site specifications
  • Maintain detailed fusion logs and quality documentation using Data Logger technology
  • Perform equipment calibration and routine maintenance on fusion machinery
  • Collaborate with construction and engineering teams on pipeline installation projects
  • Ensure all work meets mining industry safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Troubleshoot fusion equipment issues and implement corrective measures
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience as an HDPE Fusion Technician
