Job description


JOB SUMMARY

Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and performing site work based on accepted company procedures. Duties will include overseeing the loading and unloading of materials, monitoring inventory levels, testing material, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to upholding operational standards to achieve operational targets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Promote safe work habits to help create a zero-injury safety culture
  • Attends regular safety meeting and follows all safety guidelines as required
  • Maintain communication with utility
  • Monitor and record levels of fly ash in silos and place orders as needed.
  • Pulls samples of fly ash from loads and silos for testing and performs required tests
  • Loads trucks, rail cars or barges with fly ash directly from the silo
  • Unloads trucks, rail cars, or other deliver system to fill fly ash silos
  • Weighs trucks and rail cars and records the information in relevant operating system or production sheet and creates tickets for billing
  • Operates all loading equipment for loading trucks and/or rail cars including: water truck, dump truck, vacuum truck, or forklift on site when required
  • Operate production equipment including start up and shut down
  • Assists in the disposal operation where required
  • Performs maintenance on grounds, equipment and facilities as directed
  • Responsible for all paperwork and reports as required
  • Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility
  • Report any safety, quality of equipment maintenance items to Supervisor
  • Assist with maintenance repairs and projects
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Observes safety and security procedures including using equipment and materials properly and following all safety absolutes
  • Capacity to deal with problems and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Works well with others, follows instructions from supervisors and coordinates tasks with coworkers to achieve project goals
  • Consistently punctual and reliable
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions, equipment requirements, and project priorities

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
  • Prolong standing or sitting in stationary position
  • Required to occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Bend and/or twist
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
