Role Overview:
The Fluid Power Technician is responsible for the assembly, installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in custom automation equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring fluid power systems are built to specification, operate safely, and perform reliably throughout the equipment lifecycle. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, technical troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to quality and safety
How You'll Make an Impact:
  • Assemble, install, and plumb hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, actuators, manifolds, tubing, piping, and related components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, blueprints, symbols, and technical documentation.
  • Perform system testing, commissioning, and functional verification to ensure equipment meets performance and design requirements.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic system issues using technical documentation and diagnostic equipment.
  • Repair or replace components such as valves, cylinders, seals, fittings, hoses, and control devices as required.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and system evaluations to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Identify root causes of system malfunctions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, electricians, machine builders, and other team members to resolve technical challenges and improve system performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, modifications, and test results.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and safe work practices around high-pressure systems.
  • Support installation, startup, and service activities at customer sites as needed.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to less experienced technicians and production personnel when required.

What You'll Bring:
  • Associate degree in Fluid Power Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong understanding of fluid power principles, including pressure, flow, force, and control.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience with pumps, valves, cylinders, manifolds, regulators, filters, proportional controls, and related fluid power components.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment such as pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters, and other testing instruments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mechanical diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using software for documentation and diagnostics.
