Job description

Francophone Charter School of Oakland seeks Teacher (Grades 6-8) to work at our Oakland, CA campus.
Teach students in Grades 6-8 per curricula & state standards (incl Common Core) and using language immersion teaching practices. Ensure students meet educational goals. Implement curricular & pedagogical approaches of the Charter. Teaching occurs in French; all other communications are in English.
JOB DUTIES: Teach subjects that may include French, Math, Science, Social Studies, Visual & Performing Arts, Social-Emotional Learning, and rel. Manage student behavior, incl participation in schoolwide PBIS systems & culture initiatives. Proctor relevant testing. Work with other teachers in learning communities engaged in problem-solving, data analysis, knowledge sharing, program development, & mutual support. Communicate with families (newsletters, parent-teacher conferences, & individual meetings). Collaborate with colleagues, parents & community. May involve 1 week of travel to France once per yr or less frequently (with students on exchange program). Other duties as assigned (may involve mentoring, supporting extra-curricular activities, combined classes, or rel). May undergo background checks.
Requirements
Must have Bachelors in any field and be fluent in French. Also must have ability to plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies and standards, which will be assessed including via sample lesson plan or video of model lesson. Must hold one of the following: Clear CA teaching credential, Preliminary CA teaching credential, or be eligible for the Clear/Preliminary CA teaching credential without taking any additional coursework or passing any additional credentialing examinations. Salary 70,304- 85,253 per year.
