Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our weekday outpatient clinic team. This position primarily supports two providers while cross-training to assist other physicians and advanced practice providers as needed. Our clinic cares for medically complex, acutely ill patients who require exceptional critical thinking, strong organizational skills, and outstanding attention to detail.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced specialty practice and is willing to cross-train in our outpatient infusion center to provide additional patient support when needed.

- Monday through Friday
- No weekends, holidays, or routine on-call responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing support for assigned providers during clinic sessions.
- Triage patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical concerns using sound nursing judgment.
- Assess patient needs and prioritize care for a high-acuity patient population.
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, specialty medications, and follow-up care.
- Enter and process physician orders accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and disease management.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, infusion staff, pharmacies, laboratories, hospitals, and outside facilities.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation.
- Cross-train to assist other providers and nursing teams to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Cross-train in the outpatient infusion center and provide nursing support as clinic needs require.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection prevention standards.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR).
- Strong assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Commitment to teamwork and providing exceptional patient care.
Preferred
- Previous outpatient clinic experience.
- Experience in infectious disease, internal medicine, specialty practice, infusion therapy, emergency, ICU, or other high-acuity settings.
- Experience administering or caring for patients receiving infusion therapies.
