Job description

THE ROLE

Avocado is currently looking for a Production Control Coordinator to be part of the Supply Chain team. You will be reporting to the Planning Manager.

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules within a mattress/soft goods manufacturing environment to support on-time delivery, efficient labor utilization, and balanced workflow. This role works closely with production, purchasing, customer service, logistics, and warehouse teams to align manufacturing capacity with customer demand.

This position also plays a key role in supporting and driving utilization of the NetSuite ERP system throughout the production floor. Responsibilities include monitoring and auditing work orders, inventory transactions, and production reporting to ensure data accuracy and proper processing through each stage of manufacturing. The Production Control Coordinator will help promote accountability, identify system or process issues, and support continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency and data integrity.

*Note on Location: You will be working on-site at one of our Fullerton locations. This is not a remote position.

*Note on Pay Transparency:. The pay range for this role is $59,000 - $70,625 annually.

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

  • Production Schedule Creation: Create and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for multiple manufacturing work centers, while managing and monitoring work orders throughout the production process to ensure accurate scheduling, timely completion, and proper system processing.

  • Production Flow Control: Coordinate production priorities based on customer orders, inventory levels, labor availability, machine capacity, and shipping schedules..

  • Production Schedule Management: Monitor schedule adherence and adjust production plans in response to material shortages, equipment downtime, labor constraints, or changing customer demands.

  • Materials Requirements Planning (MRP): Collaborate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure raw materials and components are available to support production schedules..

  • Inventory Transfers: Coordinate inventory transfer orders between Fullerton and Tecate plants.

  • Continuous Process Improvement: Analyze production data, lead times, and capacity utilization to optimize scheduling, reduce bottlenecks, improve on-time delivery, and increase overall operational efficiency and throughput.

  • Interdepartment Communication: Work closely with customer service and sales teams to provide realistic delivery timelines and resolve order issues.

  • System Data Maintenance: Maintain accurate production records and ERP/MRP system data.

  • Inventory Support: Assist with inventory planning and cycle count reconciliation as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 2+ years of production scheduling, planning, or manufacturing coordination experience.

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Working knowledge of production flow, capacity planning, and inventory management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and develop practical, resourceful solutions.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, or process optimization initiatives.

  • APICS/CPIM certification or other relevant supply chain or operations certifications.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively across a diverse workforce.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (desk work).

  • Operation of computer equipment and other office machinery.

  • Must be able to occasionally travel to various worksites, both domestic and international.
