What is Flood Simple Insurance?

Flood Simple Insurance is a provider that specializes in offering flood insurance policies for homeowners, renters, and businesses. Their services are designed to protect properties from the financial damages caused by flooding, which is typically not covered by standard home insurance policies. Flood Simple Insurance helps customers easily obtain quotes, compare coverage options, and purchase policies online. They often work with both private insurers and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to provide a range of coverage solutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a flood insurance agent?

To thrive as a Flood Insurance Agent, you need a strong understanding of insurance principles, risk assessment, and FEMA flood maps, typically supported by state insurance licensing. Proficiency with insurance management software, quoting tools, and familiarity with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is important. Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills help you explain complex policies and build client trust. These abilities ensure clients receive appropriate coverage and support, helping them manage flood risk effectively.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in flood insurance sales, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in flood insurance sales often encounter challenges such as educating clients about the importance of flood coverage, overcoming misconceptions that standard homeowners policies include flood protection, and navigating complex underwriting requirements. Successfully addressing these challenges involves staying up to date on industry regulations, developing clear communication strategies to explain coverage options, and building trust with clients through personalized service. Regular training and collaboration with underwriters and claims specialists also help ensure that clients receive accurate information and timely support.

This is a full-time sales position for someone who wants the stability of a base salary combined with the opportunity to substantially increase their income through performance-based commissions.

Our producers focus primarily on helping Florida homeowners and families navigate a difficult insurance market. Rather than simply quoting the lowest price, our producers help customers understand their options, identify meaningful differences in coverage, and make informed insurance decisions.

Allied provides access to agency-generated opportunities, multiple insurance markets, sales technology, training, quality-control support, and an established customer-service and renewal infrastructure.

Your primary responsibility is simple:

Convert qualified insurance opportunities into quality long-term Allied clients.

This role is particularly suited for someone who is competitive, coachable, resilient, comfortable on the phone, organized with follow-up, and motivated by measurable results.

Our primary focus is Florida homeowners insurance, with additional opportunities involving Auto, Flood, Umbrella, and other personal-lines products.

Responsibilities

Respond quickly to new leads and sales opportunities.

Contact prospects by phone, text, email, and other approved communication channels.

Conduct effective insurance discovery conversations and gather the information necessary to evaluate the customer's needs.

Quote homeowners and other personal-lines insurance through Allied's approved carrier and agency systems.

Explain insurance options clearly and help customers understand important differences in coverage, deductibles, price, and protection.

Make appropriate recommendations within licensing authority.

Present proposals professionally and confidently ask for the business.

Handle objections and follow up consistently with prospects who are not immediately ready to purchase.

Maintain an organized sales pipeline and complete all required follow-up activities.

Accurately document prospect activity, quotes, communications, and outcomes in Allied's CRM and agency systems.

Complete applications accurately and submit quality business that meets carrier underwriting requirements.

Identify appropriate opportunities for additional coverage, including Flood, Auto, Umbrella, and other personal-lines products.

Develop customer and professional referrals.

Participate in sales training, call reviews, role-playing, coaching, and ongoing professional development.

Maintain all required licensing, carrier, compliance, documentation, and quality-control standards.

Meet established sales-production, conversion, follow-up, documentation, and quality expectations.

Requirements

Active Florida 2-20 General Lines license or 20-44 Personal Lines license, or other appropriate Florida personal-lines authority acceptable for the position.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Comfortable speaking with prospective customers by telephone throughout the workday.

Demonstrated sales ability or strong evidence of sales aptitude.

Ability to confidently ask for the business and appropriately handle objections.

Strong follow-up discipline.

Ability to work toward measurable sales goals and performance expectations.

Ability to learn insurance products, underwriting guidelines, technology, and sales processes.

Comfortable working with CRM, quoting, telephone, email, and other business technology.

Coachable and willing to participate in call reviews, training, role-playing, and performance coaching.

Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document customer information.

Professional, ethical, dependable, and customer-focused.

Preferred

Previous personal-lines insurance sales experience.

Experience selling Florida homeowners insurance.

Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales goals.

Experience with homeowners, auto, flood, and umbrella insurance.

Independent insurance agency experience.

Experience working with multiple insurance carriers.

Experience working inbound leads and managing an active sales pipeline.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

A college degree is not required.
