Deaconess Illinois | PRN Days or Nights Base Rate: $55.00/hour Night Shift Differential: Additional $7.00/hour

This role is ideal for highly adaptable nurses who enjoy caring for a diverse patient population while earning a competitive premium rate. Float Pool RNs have the opportunity to work in various patient care settings and make an immediate impact where they are needed most.

As a Float Pool RN, you will provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care across multiple departments and facilities based on operational needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care to a diverse patient population
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Provide nursing care within your scope of practice and demonstrated competencies
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies accurately and safely
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Monitor patient conditions and respond rapidly to changes in status
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards
• Adapt quickly to new units, workflows, and patient populations
• Float to assigned departments and facilities as needed to support patient care operations

Based on competency, experience, and staffing needs, Float Pool RNs may provide care in areas including:

• Medical/Surgical
• Telemetry
• Emergency Department
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Step Down/Progressive Care
• Other specialty units as assigned

This PRN Float Pool position supports staffing needs across Deaconess Illinois facilities and requires travel between:

• Deaconess Illinois Medical Center (Marion)
• Deaconess Illinois Crossroads Hospital (Mt. Vernon)
• Deaconess Illinois Union County Hospital (Anna)

Mileage reimbursement is not provided for travel between facilities.

• Current, unrestricted Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Preceptor and/or Charge Nurse experience
• Ability to work independently and adapt to multiple clinical environments

• Minimum of two years of recent acute care nursing experience
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or specialty certifications based on unit assignments
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced healthcare settings

• PRN Days: $55.00/hour
• PRN Nights: Additional $7.00/hour differential
