Job description

Vitro Architectural Glass,the leading manufacturer of architectural and automotive glass in North America, is seeking a Supervisor of Accounting for our Finance Department. Our Wichita Falls facility specializes in the production of flat glass using the float glass process, serving key markets including automotive, trade, and mirror applications. The plant operates a complex, high-temperature manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

This position will report to the Plant Controller and is responsible maintaining adequate control of all accounting functions; train and supervise all personnel who report directly to the incumbent in an effort to facilitate an efficient operation, and to provide meaningful, timely and accurate reports to the Plant Controller and other plant management personnel.

The responsibility for maintenance, accuracy and operation of the various computer systems related to the Accounting functions is also within the incumbent's realm of duties, as well as responsibility for proper internal controls. In performing the Supervisor, Accounting functions, the incumbent ensures an accurate and consistent Production and Cost System (SAP). Effective coordination of the various functions related to the operation of the system is necessary. In addition, the incumbent must train and instruct personnel in proper implementation and changes to the system.

The incumbent interacts with all levels of management frequently in communicating policy, programs and relevant financial information and services. Contacts with the supervisor's functional counterparts at other plants is frequent in order to obtain and provide assistance and for interpretation on guidelines and/or problem areas.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Requirements for this position include a college degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field. In addition, the incumbent must possess a detailed knowledge of Accounting theory and principles and a working knowledge of cost accounting and analysis. Highly effective organizational, supervisory and communication skills are essential to the effective performance of the incumbent's job duties. Manufacturing accounting experience and knowledge of SAP Enterprise system is preferred.
