Job description


Job Title: Allocation Forklift

Job Functions:

Knowledge of organizational structure of Assembly

Job Summary:Loading/unloading of float glass. This position will require additional forklift skills in order to move glass safely and efficiently

Job Function:

  • Support loading/unloading of raw material semi-finished product, and finished product
  • Be responsible for storage location
  • Inspect fork lift for maintenance needs and provide to Maintenance for regularly scheduled maintenance
  • Responsible for scanning product, truck assignments, and storage location in the PLEX system
  • Responsible for health and safety within every operation
  • Assist team with processes toward continued improvement
  • Perform 6S and housekeeping duties
  • Assists and participates with other plant projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Languages spoken commonly in the workplace are English and Mandarin. Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers
  • 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree(GED)
  • The employee is regularly required o stand for long periods. Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)
  • Visual acuity including, but not limited to:
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Use this factor when special and minute accuracy is demanded
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Use this factor when visual efficiency in terms of far acuity is required in day and night/dark conditions
  • Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toed work boots
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software
  • Must be proficient in metric system and have adequate reading skills
  • If an associate transfers from one position to a second position, he/she should remain in the second position for a minimum of six months prior to bidding on another job
  • No active discipline above a Verbal Warning
  • Good attendance record
  • Interested associates should turn in a signed Job Interest Form by you and your supervisor to the Human Resource office, or place in the Job Interest Box
  • Forklift driver and material handler experience preferred
  • Proficiency in ERP/Microsoft Office
  • Safety and goal oriented
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledgeable of work instructions and TS16949 systems
  • Fuyao Fork Lift License

The position’s preparation before production (including forklift recovery and charging)

Delivery of empty racks and crates (wood, steel) to lines

Transfer of packed and banded crates from lines to staging area

Removal of defect racks and transport to designated location

Effective and efficient forklift operating technique



This is a 3rd Shift position
