The Flight Operator (CP) supports real-time flight operations for high-altitude balloon systems. CPsย monitorย vehicle health, navigation, and communications, execute standard operating procedures, and support Flight Directors during all phases of flight. This role is foundational to safe, continuous operations and serves as a development pathway to Flight Director.ย 
ย 
Role Responsibilities:ย 
ย 
Monitor real-time telemetry, navigation data, and vehicle healthย 
Execute standard operating procedures and checklists during flightย 
Support Flight Director decision-making with situational awareness and data analysisย 
Maintain accurate flight logs, pass downs, and shift handoversย 
Monitor airspace boundaries and support regulatory compliance requirementsย 
Assist with ascent, Float, station-keeping, and termination operationsย 
Coordinate with recovery teams as directedย 
Escalate anomalies or off-nominal conditions promptlyย 
Support 24/7 operations including night and weekend shiftsย 
Participate in simulations and operational readiness activitiesย 
ย 
Required Qualifications:ย

Technical operations experience (aviation, UAS, aerospace, maritime, or similar)ย 
Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environmentย 
Strong attention to detail and procedural disciplineย 
Comfortable working rotating shifts, including nights/weekendsย 
Strong communication and teamwork skillsย 
Ability to maintain focus during long-duration monitoring tasksย
