WHO WE ARE
Rotary and Mission Systems' Training, Logistics and Simulation (TLS) business is Lockheed Martin's center of excellence for training and logistics products and services, serving the U.S. military and more than 65 international customers around the world. TLS develops programs that teach service men and women skills to accomplish their most challenging missions - flying the world's most advanced fighter aircraft, navigating ships, and driving armored vehicles.
WHAT WE'RE DOING
Our Flight Simulator Technicians work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers, cybersecurity and IT specialists, and training instructors to meet operational and reliability objectives across the extensive suite of flight-simulator systems used under the AFSOC ACTS II program.
*This position is contingent upon program award, expected in June 2026, with a tentative start date for August 2026.*
THE WORK
Primary Responsibilities
• Diagnose & Repair - Troubleshoot and correct discrepancies in electronic, computer, networking, hydraulic, visual, and mechanical systems down to the component level.
• Installation & Servicing - Install, replace, clean, and service visual generation/display systems, computers, networks, electric motion platforms, circuit cards, and other related hardware.
• Preventive Maintenance - Conduct preventive maintenance in accordance with vendor manuals and program work instructions.
• Test Equipment Operation - Operate and maintain electronic test equipment used to verify system performance.
• Pre-flight & Certification - Prepare training assets for daily operation, such as performing visual alignments and pre / post flights.
• Aircraft Systems Knowledge - Maintain a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems and their simulation counterparts.
• Safety Compliance - Follow all safety protocols and promote a safety-first culture in all tasks.
• Documentation - Report and accurately document maintenance actions using software tools, associated forms and logbooks, ensuring traceability and auditability.
• Logistics - Support logistic operations including part-ordering, inventory, and stocking.
• Training - Support training activities for fellow technicians.
• Other duties - As assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications
• Competent with reading and interpreting electronic/electrical drawings, schematics, and logic diagrams; troubleshoot circuits to component level.
• Proficient with electronic test equipment for fault isolation and correction.
• Skilled in repairing electronics, computers, networks, visual/display systems, I/O systems, electric motion bases, mechanical components, and flight instrumentation.
• Proficient with following maintenance manuals and work instructions for routine checks, pre-operational, and post-operational procedures.
• Formal technical electronics training (or equivalent military training) and prior simulator-maintenance experience.
• Ability to climb ladders/platforms, work at heights, and lift ≥ 50 lb.
• Willingness to work extended hours, rotating shifts, and any day of the week as needed.
• Security Certification - Current CompTIA Security+ (or DoD 8570.01-IAT Level II or higher).
• Active Secret Clearance Prior to Start
Desired skills
• Knowledge of network administration principles as they apply to simulator systems.
• System Administration of Windows and/or Linux server environments.
