Job Summary:
Amentum is a leader in space exploration, and they are seeking a motivated Simulation Developer to support the development of physics-based simulation software for the Space Launch System. The role involves designing, developing, and testing models for hardware-in-the-loop testing of avionics and flight software, working collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design, development, and test models for hardware-in-the-loop testing of avionics and flight software.
โ€ข Participate in a software development environment.
โ€ข Create and present detailed software designs.
โ€ข Conduct and participate in design and code reviews.
โ€ข Produce weekly and monthly status reports of progress in assigned areas.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s, Masterโ€™s, or PhD degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or equivalent
โ€ข 10+ years of experience.
โ€ข Intermediate to advanced proficiency in software development in C/C++.
โ€ข Proficiency in software development in Python.
โ€ข Simulation development using Matlab/Simulink.
โ€ข Design, development, and test of models and simulations for hardware-in-the-loop testing of avionics and flight software.
โ€ข Time-domain 6-DOF vehicle simulation experience
โ€ข Software development targeted for real-time operating systems and environments.
โ€ข Modeling and simulating space vehicle subsystems.
โ€ข Developing of software targeted for Linux distribution, especially RedHat Enterprise Linux or derivatives distributions.
โ€ข Proficiency working with Unix/Linux (unix-like OS structure, file system, shell, secure shell)
โ€ข Exposure to software development tools such as Git.
โ€ข Ability to communicate professionally with customers, stakeholders, and cross-organizational teams.
โ€ข Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred:
โ€ข Previous experience with the ARTEMIS simulation environment is desirable.
โ€ข Modeling using numerical methods and analysis (desirable)
