Role Summary: A Printing Press Manager for a folding carton company directs all pressroom operations to manufacture high-quality, defect-free packaging. They oversee press operators, optimize make-ready times, manage color consistency, and enforce safety and food-packaging compliance (GMP/SQF), ensuring all production schedules are met efficiently. This role will report to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Management: Oversee daily shift operations, allocating staff and managing workflows to maximize press uptime, speed, and throughput while minimizing waste and spoilage.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all printed cartons meet strict customer specifications. Maintain rigid color management standards (e.g., G7) and perform regular inprocess quality audits.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Hire, train, and mentor press crews. Conduct performance reviews, manage schedules, and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance teams to perform preventive maintenance (PM), calibrate machinery, and troubleshoot mechanical or software issues to avoid costly downtime.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements.
  • CrossFunctional Coordination: Collaborate with Prepress, DieCutting, and Finishing departments to ensure a seamless endtoend production process.
  • Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Printing Technology, or Business is preferred, but extensive handson industry experience is often accepted.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically with offset, flexographic, or digital press operations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with color management (e.g., (G7), (ISO)standards), prepress processes, and ERP/manufacturing software systems.
  • Physical & Mental: Strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to pass color vision tests, and the stamina to work in a fastpaced, highpressure environment.
  • Job Type: Full-Time
