Job description
TRG-Lakeland currently has an exciting opportunity available for a 2nd Shift Converting Supervisor at our Lakeland facility! We are a fast paced environment with great benefits and excellent employee morale.
As a 2nd Shift Converting Supervisor , you will be responsible for leading plant employees on the shift to ship quality corrugated products in a safe and productive manner with minimum waste.

Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain quality, efficiency, and production levels set by management. Communicate these standards to the team on a daily and weekly basis.
- Report on quality concerns to Plant Manager and Superintendent. Assist in determining quality guidelines.
- Directly supervise all employees assigned to the shift. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Includes training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, and disciplining employees, conflict resolution, team building, coaching and leading employees to improve, addressing complaints and resolving problems, documentation, and setting an example of superior behavior, attitude, and performance.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Establish high morale within your shift by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems and discuss with HR when appropriate or needed.
- Coordinate all production activity with sales, customer service, and production to ensure customers’ orders are being handled properly.
- Coordinate with Maintenance on any repairs or preventive maintenance done within the department.
- Keep management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of your shift.
- Enforce the corrective action procedures when applicable and conduct meetings with employees involving HR in all disciplinary type proceedings and following contractual agreements with the union.
- Conduct daily production/safety meetings with the shift.
- Make decisions and communicate to avoid problems between shift changes.
- Improve career skills by enrolling in seminars, technical courses, and related college courses.
- Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, safety program, LEAN program, and good housekeeping.
- Accountability for labor budgeting, and managing OT as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a Shift Supervisor.
- Must be willing to work directly in production as needed, this is not a desk job.
- Must maintain certification in CPR/AED/First Aid and forklift operation that will be provided by the company.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous industrial/manufacturing supervisory experience required.
- Previous experience in working with corrugated packaging equipment such as flexo folder gluers, rotary diecutters, balers, conveyors, unitizers and load formers is a plus.
