Specialized Wireless Engineer | Greenwood Village, Colorado, United States Specialized Wireless Engineer Location: Greenwood Village, CO, 80111 | Job Type: 1099 About the Role Join a nationally recognized media brand at the forefront of wireless innovation as a Specialized Wireless Engineer. Drive the next generation of WiFi and mobile technologies by leading engineering design, deployment, and performance optimization across a vast network of 20 million+ access points. Leverage your advanced expertise in wireless access and network infrastructure to solve complex production issues, support executive-level escalations, and help shape the future of wireless connectivity. Work remotely or onsite with flexible arrangements in a collaborative, high-impact environment. Responsibilities - Lead the development and deployment of wireless technology solutions (WiFi5, WiFi6, WiFi7, 4G-LTE, IoT) across devices, access, transport, and backend systems - Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot WiFi performance across a large-scale network (~20M access points) - Investigate and resolve complex production issues by analyzing large datasets and identifying root causes - Support executive-level escalations by providing expert technical guidance and rapid problem resolution - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, design technology solutions, and validate new products (Small Cells, Home/SMB Routers, Wireless APs, WAGs, Controllers) - Develop and refine tools and processes for engineering design, testing, certification, and performance optimization - Drive innovation in wireless technologies (802.11ad/ay, UWB, BNC, Mesh Networks) to enhance performance, reliability, and customer experience - Participate in RFPs/RFIs, hardware/software evaluations, and vendor contract negotiations - Provide technical leadership, guidelines, and mentorship to engineering teams Required Skills and Experience - Minimum 7 years in wireless technology development and management with top U.S. MSOs, Telco, satellite operators, or major wireless vendors - Deep knowledge of WiFi5, WiFi6, WiFi7, and 4G-LTE; familiarity with 5G - Advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production operations experience in large-scale wireless environments - Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, SQL databases, Splunk, Plume, Scope, inventory tools - Proficiency in CPE Wireless Gateway and Router design and operational support - Strong data analysis skills for large-scale problem-solving and performance optimization - Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent (BSEE); MBA preferred Preferred Skills - Experience with new wireless technologies (802.11ad/ay, UWB, BNC, Mesh Networks) - Wireless security, virus detection, and network functions virtualization - Familiarity with U.S. operator gateway and router roadmaps - Prior involvement in public WiFi infrastructure performance maximization Benefits - Opportunity to shape the future of wireless technology with a leading media brand - Work with cutting-edge tools and large-scale, high-impact projects - Flexible work arrangements (remote/onsite) - Collaborate with industry experts in a supportive, growth-oriented environment How to Apply If you are passionate about wireless innovation and have a proven track record in large-scale network operations, apply now to join a dynamic team driving industry-leading solutions.
