Additionally, this position ensures the technical integrity of the organization’s audio-visual infrastructure, providing seamless support for Tribal government operations and special events. The incumbent will be the lead person shooting/editing/producing video narratives in support of the Tribe and operating, maintaining and troubleshooting A/V equipment and software used in the production and distribution of A/V, multimedia, video programs and video conferencing equipment for all NHBP facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Narrative Production
    • Lead the end-to-end production of documentary-style features, social media shorts, and archival projects.
    • Create compelling stories, conduct empathetic interviews with Elders and Members, and deliver a polished final product.
  2. Cultural Documentation
    • Act as a guardian of Tribal history by filming significant community events such as gatherings and documenting oral histories with a deep respect for protocol and sensitivity.
  3. Live Event Technical Lead
    • Plan and execute the A/V strategy for major events (e.g., Pow Wows, General Membership Meetings).
    • Set up sound reinforcement, live-streaming feeds, and visual displays in diverse environments.
  4. Infrastructure Excellence
    • Design, troubleshoot, and maintain the organization’s A/V systems, including digital signage and conference room systems.
    • Ensure that technology is an "invisible" support that never distracts from the work of the Tribal government.
  5. Empowerment through Training
    • Create simple, accessible "how-to" guides and provide hands-on training to staff to ensure they are confident using departmental A/V tools and conferencing software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Associate’s Degree in Video Production, Film, Multimedia, or related education, or 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  2. 3 years of professional experience which includes:
    • Operating cinema-grade or DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, field audio equipment (lavaliers, boom mics), A/V system operations (including audio mixing and processing at appropriate volume levels, AV switching, control systems, video encoding, and video on demand), and lighting kits.
    • Expert-level editing in video and image editing software.
    • Setting up and "breaking down" A/V hardware—mixers, speakers, and cabling—and a basic understanding of A/V-over-IP or conferencing software.
  3. Provide a demo reel or portfolio of work which includes examples of storytelling, clean audio, and high-quality editing.
  4. Maintain a valid Driver’s License and be eligible to operate GSA vehicles.
  5. Knowledge of current A/V components technologies and techniques including video conferencing and remote group collaboration equipment.
  6. Experience working with vendors that supplement videographer and multimedia services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
