Providence Christian Preparatory School is seeking a dependable, attentive, and flexible Student Support and Campus Supervision Assistant to support the safe and effective operation of our K–12 school campus.

This is a multifaceted support position for an individual who enjoys working with children and can move confidently between classroom assistance, teacher coverage, student supervision, hallway monitoring, arrival and dismissal duties, cafeteria support, testing support, and other daily operational assignments.

The successful candidate must be able to follow established procedures, maintain active supervision, respond promptly when assistance is requested, and contribute to a safe, orderly, respectful, and Christ-centered school environment.

Assist teachers with classroom management, instructional activities, student engagement, and daily classroom routines.

Work with individual students or small groups under the direction of the classroom teacher or school administrator.

Provide classroom coverage when a teacher is temporarily absent or unavailable.

Follow the teacher’s lesson plans, classroom schedule, and assigned curriculum when providing coverage.

Use age-appropriate classroom-management and behavior-redirection techniques.

Help prepare instructional materials, make photocopies, organize supplies, and maintain classroom resources.

Supervise virtual-learning or computer-lab classrooms when assigned.

Proctor quizzes, tests, standardized assessments, and other testing sessions.

Support students with transition activities and ensure that students remain appropriately engaged.

Assist with maintaining attendance, student work, behavior notes, and other required classroom documentation when assigned.

Observe student performance and promptly communicate academic, behavioral, developmental, or safety concerns to the appropriate teacher or administrator.

Patrol hallways, restrooms, entrances, stairways, and other assigned common areas.

Maintain active supervision of students as they move throughout the school campus.

Ensure students travel directly and safely to their assigned destinations.

Escort students to classrooms, offices, restrooms, lunch areas, dismissal locations, or other authorized destinations when necessary.

Encourage students to remain in class during instructional periods unless they have appropriate permission.

Monitor student behavior and redirect students who are not following school expectations.

Respond promptly when classroom teachers or administrators request assistance.

Help prevent running, horseplay, excessive noise, unauthorized gathering, and other unsafe or disruptive behavior.

Document and report significant incidents, policy violations, injuries, or safety concerns.

Maintain professional visibility and attentiveness throughout assigned supervision periods.

Ensure hallways and common areas remain orderly, clean, and free of trash or safety hazards.

Arrival, Dismissal, and Student Accountability

Assist with morning arrival, afternoon dismissal, carline, extended-day transitions, and other student-release procedures.

Greet students and families in a courteous and professional manner.

Help verify that students are released only to authorized parents, guardians, or approved transportation providers.

Follow all student sign-in, sign-out, handover, and attendance-accountability procedures.

Maintain accurate awareness of the students assigned to your supervision.

Immediately report any missing student, unauthorized pickup attempt, transportation concern, or discrepancy in student accountability.

Assist students as they transition between classrooms, activities, lunch periods, chapel, testing, and dismissal.

Support safe student loading and unloading when assigned.

Assist with cafeteria and lunchroom supervision.

Help students follow established procedures for entering, eating, cleaning their spaces, and leaving the cafeteria.

Monitor student behavior and promote respectful table manners and appropriate conversation.

Assist younger students when appropriate while encouraging age-appropriate independence.

Watch for food-safety concerns, choking hazards, allergic reactions, illness, or other emergencies.

Ensure students do not share food when prohibited by school procedures.

Help maintain a clean and orderly dining environment.

Promptly report spills, accidents, illness, or student concerns.

Student Safety and Behavior Support

Maintain active supervision at all times and avoid distractions that interfere with student monitoring.

Apply school rules and behavior expectations fairly, calmly, and consistently.

Use respectful verbal redirection and approved behavior-management practices.

Refer serious, repeated, or escalating behavior concerns to an administrator.

Never use corporal punishment, intimidation, humiliation, threats, or inappropriate physical contact.

Follow school procedures for student injuries, accidents, illness, emergencies, and suspected abuse or neglect.

Complete incident and accident reports accurately and promptly.

Protect student confidentiality and discuss student matters only with authorized personnel.

Participate in fire drills, severe-weather drills, lockdown drills, and other emergency-preparedness activities.

Follow all school safety, security, health, sanitation, and emergency procedures.

Cooperate with teachers, administrators, office staff, and other support personnel to meet student and school needs.

Accept daily assignments based on campus priorities and staffing needs.

Communicate respectfully and professionally with students, parents, coworkers, visitors, and community members.

Assist with school events, chapel, assemblies, field trips, testing, open house, parent conferences, and other programs when assigned.

Help protect school equipment, instructional materials, student belongings, and school property.

Participate in required meetings, orientation, training, and professional-development activities.

Maintain professional boundaries with students and families.

Perform additional reasonable duties and projects assigned by the Principal or administrative team.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic computer and technology skills.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to work successfully with students across multiple grade levels.

Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in fast-moving situations.

Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to supervisors.

Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, church, youth, tutoring, or similar setting is preferred.

Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents.

Stand and walk for extended periods.

Move quickly when responding to a student or staff concern.

Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and occasionally sit on the floor when assisting students.

Use stairs and travel between classrooms and campus areas.

Lift, carry, push, or pull classroom materials and equipment weighing approximately 12–20 pounds.

Supervise students indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Hear and respond to student, staff, radio, bell, alarm, and emergency communications.

Perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work schedules are established according to enrollment, staffing, and operational needs. Candidates should have flexibility to work during school operating hours, including morning arrival, the instructional day, afternoon dismissal, and extended-day periods when assigned.

Successful completion of a Level II background screening and fingerprinting.
