ASRC Federal is seeking a Space Portfolio Solution Architect (PSA) for the Space Operating Group (OG) to support and drive our business development and capture activities. The Space PSA is a senior technical and strategic leader responsible for designing, integrating, and delivering scalable solutions across a portfolio of space related programs and projects. This role ensures consistency, interoperability, and alignment of technical solutions across the portfolio while supporting organizational growth objectives, customer mission outcomes, and enterprise architecture standards. The Space PSA collaborates closely with program leadership, capture teams, engineering organizations, and customers to develop innovative, compliant, and cost-effective solutions that align with portfolio priorities and long-term strategic goals. The Space operating group (OG) serves several Federal customers including but not limited to. US Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), US Space Force (USSF), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be primarily providing direct support to several concurrent business development opportunities by performing a multitude of tasks, including:
Space Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership
  • Lead the design and integration of solutions across a portfolio of federal programs and projects within the Space OG or Division.
  • Ensure consistency, standardization, and reuse of architectures, frameworks, and technical approaches across the portfolio.
  • Align portfolio solutions with enterprise strategies, customer mission requirements, and organizational objectives.
  • Develop portfolio-level technology roadmaps, modernization strategies, and solution frameworks.
  • Assess and recommend emerging technologies, architectures, and capabilities to improve mission effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Apply Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering principles to proposed solutions.

Customer Engagement & Capture Leadership
  • Engage with federal customers, program managers, and stakeholders to understand mission priorities, challenges, and future requirements.
  • Support business development, capture, and proposal efforts by shaping technical strategies and solution approaches.
  • Collaborate with portfolio leadership to identify growth opportunities, technology investments, and innovation initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities to ensure portfolio alignment with customer and organizational goals.
  • Provide technical guidance during solution reviews, technical exchanges, and customer briefings.

Solution Architecture & Development
  • Architect end-to-end solutions that integrate systems, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, networking, data, and application services across the portfolio.
  • Ensure solutions comply with federal security, compliance, and enterprise architecture requirements.
  • Conduct technology trade studies, risk assessments, and architecture reviews to support informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain solution artifacts including architecture diagrams, implementation plans, technical roadmaps, and integration strategies.
  • Promote interoperability, scalability, resiliency, and maintainability across portfolio solutions.

Proposal & Pursuit Execution
  • Lead technical solution development for space related opportunities and proposals within the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with capture managers, pricing teams, SMEs, and proposal staff to develop compliant and compelling technical responses.
  • Contribute to technical volumes, executive summaries, staffing approaches, and solution narratives.
  • Define technical discriminators, win themes, and value propositions aligned to customer evaluation criteria.
  • Support proposal reviews, solution validation, and technical risk mitigation activities.

Leadership, Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to solution architects, engineers, and project teams across the portfolio.
  • Foster collaboration across programs, business units, operations teams, and enterprise architecture organizations.
  • Support the development of reusable solution assets, standards, and best practices.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the portfolio.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Solution Architect leading solutions for federal government Space opportunities and proposals.
  • Experience supporting customers such as USSF, AFRL, NASA, NOAA, or other DoD/IC Space organizations
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering enterprise or portfolio-level technical solutions for federal customers.
  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering for Space Systems, Digital Engineering, and Government acquisition processes.
  • Experience supporting capture, proposal, and business development activities.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Preferred Skills & Certifications
  • Experience architecting and integrating Space mission, ground, and enterprise systems for DoD, Intelligence Community, NASA, NOAA, or other federal space customers.
  • Experience with Space Systems Engineering, mission engineering, and lifecycle engineering practices.
  • Experience applying Digital Engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, tools, and digital engineering environments to complex space systems.
  • Knowledge of space and ground segment architectures, including mission operations, command and control (C2), satellite communications, telemetry/tracking/control, data processing, and mission networks.
  • Experience developing reference architectures, technology roadmaps, and reusable solution frameworks across multiple programs or mission areas.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML, cloud/edge computing, advanced analytics, cybersecurity, Zero Trust, and automation into Space mission architectures.
  • Active U.S. Security clearance (Secret or Above) preferred
