Job description

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting elementary learners in a mixed special education classroom. This full-time opportunity runs from ASAP through June 14, 2027, and is perfect for a dedicated Special Education Teacher eager to make a real difference with 2nd and 3rd grade students. You’ll provide direct services, adapting instruction to address varied learning needs, and play a crucial part in fostering growth and academic achievement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teaching Certification (required)
  • Background in special education, with experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
  • Strong collaboration skills for partnering with general educators, specialists, and families
  • Ability to create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Commitment to providing a supportive, inclusive environment for diverse learners

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to a combined 2nd and 3rd grade special education classroom
  • Modify curriculum and use differentiated strategies to accommodate individual student needs
  • Conduct assessments and progress monitoring for ongoing IEP development
  • Collaborate with support staff and communicate regularly with caregivers
  • Maintain thorough records to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Promote a positive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and confidence
