Job description

Pharmacy Technician / Fulfillment Technician

Looking to grow your pharmacy career beyond the traditional retail setting? Join a collaborative team where you'll play a vital role in helping patients receive their medications safely, accurately, and on time.

In this hybrid role, you'll support both pharmacy operations and fulfillment activities, working closely with pharmacists, providers, and patients throughout the prescription process. This is a great opportunity to expand your skills in specialty pharmacy, insurance verification, patient support, and medication fulfillment.

Schedule: Onsite with flexible shifts between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM

Opportunity: Cross-training, potential contract extensions, and possible permanent hire opportunities

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pharmacists in prescription processing and patient care activities
  • Enter and manage prescription orders accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding prescriptions and coverage
  • Maintain and update patient records and documentation
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist with medication adherence programs and delivery coordination
  • Pick, label, pack, and ship prescription medications
  • Support inventory management and fulfillment operations
  • Collaborate across pharmacy and fulfillment teams to ensure exceptional service
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational excellence
Qualifications
  • Active Illinois Certified Pharmacy Technician license
  • 3+ years of pharmacy experience (specialty, retail, mail order, PBM, or healthcare setting)
  • Experience with prescription data entry and insurance verification
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable in a high-volume, call-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient with pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred
  • Specialty pharmacy experience
  • Healthcare call center experience
  • Experience with benefit investigation and medication adherence programs
  • Interest in long-term career growth within a rapidly evolving pharmacy environment

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.05 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
