The Systems Engineer will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system-level hardware and software integration, providing technical support during technology demonstrations, integration events, testing, and other customer-driven activities. This position requires an individual who can assess complex systems, understand how hardware and software components interact, identify integration issues, and develop practical solutions in dynamic environments.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with technical teams and Government customers, traveling to support events, and providing hands-on technical expertise when emergent requirements arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Systems Engineering SME supporting hardware and software implementation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Travel to customer locations, test sites, technology demonstrations, and other events to provide on-site technical support.
  • Support emergent technology events, demonstrations, integration activities, and technical evaluations.
  • Provide SME-level technical expertise throughout the planning, implementation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting lifecycle.
  • Review existing systems and evaluate hardware, software, interfaces, configurations, and dependencies.
  • Analyze system architectures and identify potential integration impacts, technical risks, and compatibility issues.
  • Support the integration of hardware and software components into existing system environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex system-level issues involving hardware, operating systems, applications, networks, interfaces, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Identify root causes of technical and integration issues and develop recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, integration, and testing of hardware and software systems.
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies for potential integration into existing or future system architectures.
  • Support technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities, prototypes, and experimental systems.
  • Participate in system reviews and provide technical recommendations regarding system configuration, integration approaches, and implementation strategies.
  • Review system documentation, architecture diagrams, interface documentation, configuration information, and technical procedures.
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in system documentation and recommend updates.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation supporting system implementation, integration, configuration, and troubleshooting
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems integration, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating complex hardware and software systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting system-level hardware and software integration issues.
  • Experience reviewing system architectures, configurations, interfaces, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze technical problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Experience supporting system implementation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Strong understanding of the interaction between hardware, software, operating systems, networks, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to support customer events, demonstrations, testing, and emergent requirements.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs or mission-critical systems.
  • Experience supporting emerging technology demonstrations, experimentation, prototypes, or technology transition activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security Plus certification prior to start date.
