Reporting To: Director of Sales Position Summary: We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Washington D.C., as our new Director of Diplomatic Sales. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Director of Diplomatic Sales is responsible for the account development of foreign government business, delegations, and royal family travel, typically facilitated through their embassies in Washington, D.C., or through luxury travel agencies. This market will assist in maximizing room revenue, occupancy, average rate, and ancillary food and beverage revenues for the Hotel. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for The Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown to all foreign embassies, consulates, governments, and royalty across all revenue points, including transient rooms, group rooms, and banquets. Exceed assigned revenue targets in designated markets. Research, identify, target, and solidify relationships with new and existing Embassy, foreign government, and VVIP travel agent accounts. Conduct weekly sales calls to Embassy contacts to uncover new business opportunities for the Hotel. Travel, which may be domestic or international, will be required to present the Hotel to foreign nation-based accounts and/or to attend trade shows and sales missions. Submit monthly sales highlights, industry intelligence, and account production reports to the Director of Sales. Participate in the development and implementation of the annual Marketing Plan as it pertains to Embassy and Delegation business, to achieve revenue goals. Prepare strategic plans as part of the Hotel's ongoing Marketing Plans to achieve a high level of Diplomatic segment penetration and increase RevPAR growth for the Hotel. Coordinate with the Hotel's operational departments the details and needs of Diplomatic groups and VIP guests. This may include coordination with external security services. Serve as the Diplomatic accounts' Event Manager, responsible for collecting rooming lists, payments, arrival/departure details, guest preferences, dining arrangements, and concierge services, along with being present for group/VIP arrivals and departures. Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality regarding all information pertaining to Diplomatic guests. Additional special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales and the Director of Sales & Marketing.
