FMA PROGRAM ASSISTANT Level II
Division: CAS Department: FMA Experience: Intermediate
Job Code: FWSFMAHUPRGASST2 Supervisor/Reports To: Andrew Reed
Start Date: 8/25/2026
This assistant supports a variety of shoots and editing projects while gaining valuable hands-on experience in media production. They work closely with faculty and advanced assistants to create high-quality content and help maintain the FMA lab. Ideal for students with a solid foundation in media skills and a desire to grow creatively and technically.
Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

  1. Assist in the production of video content, including shooting, lighting, and editing support (T, CT, TW)
  2. Support upper-level assistants and faculty on media projects and class shoots (C, TW, P)
  3. Help maintain FMA Lab organization and assist fellow students with projects (L, TW, CSD)
  4. Contribute ideas to media projects, collaborating with other assistants and faculty (CT, TW)
  5. Collaborate with Pike TV staff to support live campus events and sporting broadcasts in a hands-on support capacity (TW, T, P)

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm; closed on weekends. Hours flexible to accommodate class schedules and events.
Work Conditions: Normal office environment
Physical Demands: Keyboarding, reaching/handling, stooping/kneeling

Pay Rate: $10.50/hour
