Job description

Position Description: Job Title: Commercial Loan OfficerDepartment/Location: Commercial Loans / Buena Vista, CO (On-Site Only)Primary Supervisor: Vice President of Commercial LoansSecondary Supervisor(s): Buena Vista Market President, Chief Operating OfficerFLSA Classification: ExemptSalary Grade: $70,000 - $120,000 (annual)________________________________________Position Summary:The Loan Officer role will review loan applications to evaluate, authorize, and/or recommend the approval of commercial, credit, or consumer loans. This is NOT a supervisory role.________________________________________Duties and Responsibilities:• Assists potential borrowers with completion of initial loan applications; reviews submitted applications for accuracy and completion, requesting additional information or detail as needed.• Verifies information and financial history provided; acquires borrower’s credit reports from major credit reporting bureau(s).• Submits application to credit analysts or, when appropriate, examines application and creditworthiness of potential borrower; determines or makes recommendations regarding approval or denial/modification of requested loan.• Approves or, when outside pre-approved lending limits, refers loans to management for analysis and approval.• Ensures loan agreements are completed according to policy; calculates and explains payment schedules.• Explains different lending and credit options and bank products to potential and current clients.• Maintains credit and lending records and files, including pipeline management and call logs. • Servicing existing loan portfolio, including but not limited to: extension requests, monitoring payment delinquency, processing construction draws, and pulling loan payments. • Maintains a robust referral network in the local banking community with builders, real estate agents, and other related businesses.• Performs other related duties as assigned.• Assist as needed with day-to-day bank activities including but not limited to: balancing the vault, cash sales & purchase, accepting cash orders, and opening activities.• Loan Presentations.• Delinquencies/past dues, Classified Assets, REO – maintain and liquidate• Site visits/collateral inspections• Community Service• Frequent communication with customers/applicants and affiliated parties such as realtors, title co etc.• Annual Reviews• Engage and analyze appraisals• Responsible for obtaining all pertinent information and documentation required for a loan to be closed.• Other duties as assigned.________________________________________Compliance Requirements:• Ensure Compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures. • Ensure and understand compliance requirements of all laws and regulations within the Banking industry, including, but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Office of Foreign Assets Control Regulations (OFAC); Reporting of Currency Transactions (CTR); Reporting of Suspicious Activity (SAR); Monetary Instrument Log/Customer Identification/Customer Due Diligence (CDD); Anti Money Laundering Regulations; Identity Theft Prevention; Unfair, Deceptive, Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP); and Deposit Regulations (Reg CC, E, P,), Freddie Mac lending. ________________________________________Soft Skills (Interpersonal & Professional):• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Excellent math skills.• Trustworthiness and the ability to act with integrity. • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Strong organizational and time management skills.• High level of integrity and confidentiality.• In-depth understanding of commercial loan products.________________________________________Cognitive & Technical Skills:• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).• Comfortable using industry-specific software or tools.• Familiarity with standard office equipment (phones, copiers, scanners).• Ability to learn and apply new technologies or systems quickly.________________________________________Education and Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred; or accounting-related work experience may be substituted for degree.• Bank financial institution accounting experience preferred.• Experience with computerized spreadsheet programs required.• Experience with an automated accounting software program is preferred.________________________________________Physical & Other Abilities:• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.• Must maintain professional appearance and dress code standards.• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, if required.• Reliable transportation (if travel or multi-location coverage is necessary).________________________________________Work Environment:This position operates in a professional office environment and requires interaction with customers, staff, and leadership.
