What is an Overnight Collateral Inspection?

An Overnight Collateral Inspection is a process where an inspector checks and verifies assets used as collateral for loans or financial agreements, typically during nighttime hours. These inspections ensure that the collateral, such as vehicles, equipment, or inventory, is present, in good condition, and matches the lender’s records. Overnight inspections are often conducted to reduce the risk of tampering or movement of assets that could occur during the day. This helps financial institutions manage risk and maintain accurate records for secured loans.
