Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical

Deaconess Illinois Crossroads Hospital | PRN Nights Compensation: $35.00 - $45.00/hour

At Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, our Medical/Surgical team is at the heart of patient care. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) who are passionate about delivering exceptional care, building meaningful patient relationships, and working alongside a collaborative healthcare team.

Whether you're an experienced nurse or looking to grow your clinical expertise, you'll find a supportive environment where your knowledge, critical thinking, and compassion make a difference every day.

As a Medical/Surgical RN, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population while serving as an essential member of the healthcare team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver safe, high-quality patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status
  • Coordinate and direct nursing care based on established clinical practices and standards
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Advocate for patients while promoting safety, quality, and compassionate care
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
  • Coordinate care, communicate results, and support patients and families throughout their healthcare journey

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Red Cross BLS certification upon hire
  • One year of previous clinical nursing experience (preferred)
