To excel as a Flexible Asset Tokenization Specialist, you need a strong understanding of blockchain technology, financial instruments, and regulatory compliance, often supported by a background in finance, computer science, or law. Familiarity with tokenization platforms, smart contract development tools (like Solidity), and knowledge of security protocols are crucial for this role. Flexible Asset Tokenization involves converting physical or financial assets into digital tokens on blockchain platforms, focusing on digital asset markets. Real Estate Analysts evaluate property data, market trends, and investment opportunities in the real estate sector. While both roles require financial knowledge, tokenization emphasizes blockchain technology, whereas real estate analysis centers on property valuation and market insights.

What is flexible asset tokenization?

Flexible asset tokenization is the process of converting ownership of real-world or digital assets into blockchain-based tokens, allowing for fractional ownership, trading, and increased liquidity. Unlike traditional asset tokenization, 'flexible' tokenization provides adaptable features such as adjustable rights, dynamic compliance, or customizable transfer restrictions. This approach enables asset owners and investors to tailor token characteristics to meet regulatory, market, or operational needs, making it easier to manage and trade diverse types of assets. As a result, flexible asset tokenization is increasingly popular for real estate, art, securities, and other valuable assets.

Job description

Your role
Are you passionate about the future of banking through digital transformation and digital assets? Do you see yourself playing an integral part in driving strategic projects and shaping the Group Digital Assets transformation globally?
We are seeking an emerging leader to originate, shape, and drive the execution of institutional tokenization initiatives globally across the firm, in close partnership with Investment Bank (IB), Asset Management (AM), Global Wealth Management (GWM), and Personal & Corporate Banking (P&C). This role sits at the intersection of capital markets, regulation, and blockchain-enabled market infrastructure. It is designed for a "rising star" who can identify and translate strategic opportunities into executable, institutionally viable solutions by mobilizing stakeholders across a complex organization. This is not a standalone business development role and not a tokenization platform/product ownership role. Success depends on credibility, influence, conceptual thinking, problem solving skills, and the ability to deliver outcomes across organizational boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
• originate and shape institutional tokenization opportunities across IB, AM, GWM, and P&C, converting strategic priorities into concrete initiatives with clear divisional sponsorship and measurable outcomes
• drive end-to-end execution of complex tokenization initiatives, including strategic approach, partner selection, delivery planning, and cross-functional coordination across Product, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Distribution/Coverage
• act as a central orchestrator across divisions, aligning stakeholders and maintaining momentum without direct authority, including managing competing priorities and ambiguous problem spaces
• partner closely with internal and external Tokenization Platform Owner/teams (product & infrastructure ownership) to translate institutional requirements into scalable platform capabilities, while maintaining clear decision rights and separation between origination/structuring and platform ownership
• plan and support negotiation of strategic partnerships with key ecosystem participants (e.g., custodians, infrastructure providers, tokenization agents, administrators, exchanges), ensuring commercial, operational, and regulatory viability
• integrate regulatory, governance, and risk considerations into initiative design and execution, ensuring institutionally robust pathways to market across relevant jurisdictions
• establish and improve repeatable execution patterns (governance, templates, workstreams, decision forums, milestones) to increase delivery velocity and transparency across initiatives
• represent the firm credibly in key discussions with internal and external executive stakeholders as required by the initiative (e.g., institutional clients, strategic partners, industry forums), focused on delivery and scalable structures
Additional US Responsibility
• act as a key interface to regional management in the US, ensuring a coherent and executable Digital Assets strategy by aligning global priorities with regional market, regulatory, and client requirements
What Success Looks Like (12-18 months)
• a sponsor-backed portfolio of priority ecosystem initiatives across IB, AM, GWM, and P&C with clear governance, decision rights, and delivery milestones
• progress 2-3 cross-divisional tokenization initiatives from concept through structured delivery planning to executed launch or a defined go-live pathway, depending on complexity and jurisdiction
• a repeatable "institutional tokenization playbook" covering structuring patterns, partner archetypes, risk/compliance pathways, and execution routines
• demonstrable stakeholders pull: divisions proactively bring opportunities because the role accelerates delivery rather than creating friction

Disclaimer / Policy statements
UBS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We respect and seek to empower each individual and support the diverse cultures, perspectives, skills and experiences within our workforce.
Your team
You'll be part of the Group Digital Assets team within GCOO, a global function driving the firm's Digital Assets strategy and cross-divisional transformation, with mandates spanning strategy, partnerships, delivery, technology, and risk. Our team operates across key locations including Zurich, London, Singapore, New York, and Wroclaw, reflecting its global and cross-functional remit. We operate in a high-performance, collaborative environment with a strong focus on ownership and delivery in complex and evolving contexts. Within this setup, you will act as line manager for a dedicated sub-team based in New York and Wroclaw, with responsibility for team leadership, development, and performance.
Your expertise
• an emerging leader with strong trajectory in institutional markets, sound commercial judgement, and a proven ability to deliver outcomes through cross-divisional orchestration
• ideally 10+ years of relevant experience in traditional and/or digital institutional financial services (e.g., capital markets, structured products, market infrastructure, digital assets, custody/settlement, issuance, or adjacent areas)
• demonstrated strong commercial delivery in challenging transactions or strategic market initiatives with increasing ownership and accountability (not purely execution support)
• strong ability to structure problems and solutions: translate client/divisional needs into viable product/transaction structures and partner models
• proven authority to influence and mobilize key stakeholders in a matrix environment; credible with front office, risk, legal, compliance, and product/tech counterparts
• high execution discipline in ambiguous contexts: able to create a delivery path where none exists, drive governance, and maintain momentum across competing priorities
• strong communication skills and executive presence; ability to represent the firm professionally in internal and external engagements
• you're curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows; you do this with sound judgment - validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
Highly Desirable
• exposure to tokenization/digital assets/market infrastructure topics in an institutional context (even if not as a "Head of" role)
• experience where regulatory/governance constraints materially shaped product or transaction design across jurisdictions
• network across relevant ecosystem participants and institutional counterparties, or clear evidence of building access quickly through credibility and delivery
