General Notes
Temporary assignments may be filled at any time; only competitive applicants selected will be contacted and provided with instructions on the continued application process. Please no phone calls or emails. Please note we have two sessions - Wednesday. September 16th and Friday, September 18th. -(4) hours per session. See work shift information below for the work hours. At the time of selection - candidate will select session. Several positions to fill.
Purpose
Mock Jurors will participate in practice session(s) for a team of three students preparing to compete in a Jury Selection competition in mid-Sept. Mock jurors participating in these practice rounds will hear an opening statement and then be questioned (as if on a real jury selection panel) by the students.
Responsibilities
  • Mock Jurors will participate in practice sessions for a team of three students preparing to compete in a Jury Selection competition towards the end of Sept. Mock jurors participating in these practice rounds will hear an opening statement.
  • And then be questioned (as if on a real jury selection panel) by the students. Mock Jurors will have to fill out and submit a Juror Info Form (via Microsoft Forms) prior to the date they participate.

Required Qualifications
High school grad or GED. Must be willing to answer jury selection questions. Must be able to receive, via email, juror info form link to be completed and returned prior to practice session which they are participating. Must be punctual to session. Good communication skills.

Employment Eligibility:
Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
