Job description

Join 770GoodLaw as the Assistant/Paralegal to the Trial Director and become a critical partner in preparing and executing the firm's jury trials. In this specialized, high-impact role, you'll provide direct operational, administrative, and substantive support to the Trial Director across trial preparation, in-court logistics, hearings, and depositions — from assembling exhibit binders and coordinating expert witnesses to managing courtroom setup and conducting post-verdict juror debriefs. Every document you prepare is submitted for attorney review and signature, giving you the opportunity to learn and grow alongside the firm's most seasoned trial team.

We're committed to investing in the people who help us win at trial, and we'll support you with competitive pay, career advancement opportunities, and a full benefits package including paid time off, health insurance reimbursement, a professional development program, and a 401(k) with company matching.

If you're detail-driven, thrive in high-stakes environments, and want to be part of the team that walks into the courtroom ready to win — we'd love to have you on the team.

Compensation:

$22 - $30/hour

Responsibilities:

Pre-Trial Preparation

  • Compile and organize medical records, bills, police reports, accident reconstruction reports, expert disclosures, and all damages documentation; assemble and maintain trial exhibit binders for the Trial Director and each attorney.
  • Coordinate exhibit marking, numbering, and exhibit list preparation in accordance with local court rules; prepare witness lists, subpoenas, and witness coordination logistics for attorney review and signature.
  • Coordinate with expert witnesses to confirm availability, prepare exhibit materials, and ensure expert reports are complete; scan social media and other sources for impeachment evidence; coordinate mock trials.

Trial Week Logistics

  • Note juror responses and characteristics during voir dire, monitor the jury throughout trial, and coordinate all courtroom logistics including trial technology setup, equipment transport, and exhibit handling.
  • Manage daily trial schedules, communicate witness call times, and liaise with court staff and opposing counsel's support teams; maintain a running admitted-exhibit log throughout proceedings.
  • Conduct or coordinate post-verdict juror interviews under the Trial Director's direction and deliver a written debrief summarizing juror themes and takeaways.

Hearing & Deposition Support

  • Coordinate hearing logistics including court date confirmations, notices (prepared for attorney signature), and court reporter arrangements; attend hearings as directed to take notes, manage exhibits, and provide real-time support.
  • Schedule depositions with all parties, witnesses, court reporters, and videographers; build and maintain standardized deposition prep packets and grab-and-go binder templates.

Calendar & Time Management

  • Co-maintain the Trial Director's Outlook calendar using time-boxing methodology; proactively track all trial pipeline deadlines across the Litigation Teams and deliver timely reminders to the Trial Director and responsible attorneys.

Correspondence & Case Management

  • Draft and proofread conflict letters and other correspondence for Trial Director review and signature; manage and route incoming calls and emails to the Trial Director; ensure all documents are properly filed, labeled, and stored within the firm's case management systems.

Court Relationships & Follow-Through

  • Maintain and update the court staff relationship log (judges, clerks, bailiffs, court reporters) to strengthen the firm's institutional knowledge and courtroom effectiveness.

Qualifications:
  • Paralegal certificate or Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred, with 3–5+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation — direct trial support experience (jury trials, exhibit management, courtroom logistics) is strongly preferred; personal injury or plaintiff-side experience in Georgia state courts a significant advantage.
  • Deep familiarity with the full trial preparation lifecycle — including exhibit assembly, witness coordination, subpoena preparation, expert witness logistics, and local court rules governing trial procedure — with the discipline to prepare every document for attorney review and signature rather than acting independently.
  • Exceptional calendar, time-boxing, and deadline management skills, with a proven ability to track multiple trial pipeline cases simultaneously, deliver proactive reminders, and support a high-volume, high-stakes litigator without missing a beat.
  • A values-driven, solution-oriented professional who embodies 770GoodLaw's R.O.C.K.S. values (Relentlessly Reliable, Openly Selfless, Contagiously Positive, Kindness, Sincetegrity) — someone committed to strict confidentiality, continuous self-improvement, and constructive participation in the firm's performance and development programs.
