Land Surveyor

Are you passionate about building stronger, more resilient communities? Join Widseth as a land surveyor and play a direct role in delivering the critical infrastructure that shapes how people live, connect, and thrive.

At Widseth, we don't just survey land—we unlock its potential. From utility corridors and renewable energy projects to transportation systems, civil infrastructure, and urban expansion, our teams provide the precision, expertise, and leadership that keep complex projects moving forward.

We are growing and seeking a high-energy, technically strong, and collaborative professional who is ready to lead in the field and contribute beyond it.

What you'll do:

  • Lead boundary, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and topographic surveys across diverse project types
  • Supervise and mentor field crews, providing technical direction and professional development
  • Manage survey projects from kickoff through closeout—ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
  • Review and prepare plats, legal descriptions, right-of-way maps, and construction drawings
  • Operate and oversee use of GPS, robotic total stations, laser scanners, UAVs, and advanced survey technologies
  • Collaborate directly with clients, project managers, engineers, and public agencies
  • Serve as signing surveyor in accordance with state licensing requirements
  • Champion safety, data integrity, and continuous improvement
  • Continue learning and growing professionally

What you bring:

  • Licensed professional land surveyor (PLS)
  • 5-8+ years of land surveying experience
  • Strong knowledge of boundary law, construction surveying, and local land use regulations
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Leica or Topcon workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, projects, and client relationships
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed

What we offer:

Growth opportunities:

  • Specialized training in design, leadership, and business development
  • Career advancement through continuing education, licensure, certification, and technical development

Compensation & benefits:

Widseth offers competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications, including:

  • Salary range: $85,000 – $120,000 (based on experience)
  • Discretionary annual profit-sharing bonuses
  • Health insurance and Health Savings Account (HSA) options
  • Flexible benefits
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • Life insurance
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Professional development and continuing education support

All offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check meeting company standards. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Widseth is an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
