What is a flex schedule remote optometry billing?

A Flex Schedule Remote Optometry Billing job involves handling billing and insurance claims for optometry practices while working from a remote location, often with flexible hours. Professionals in this role process patient billing, submit and follow up on insurance claims, and ensure accurate record-keeping for optometry services. This job typically requires knowledge of medical billing codes, optometry-specific procedures, and electronic health records. Flexibility in scheduling allows employees to work outside traditional office hours, which can be ideal for balancing work and personal commitments.

How does working a flex schedule in remote optometry billing impact daily workflow and team collaboration?

A flex schedule in remote optometry billing allows you to manage your work hours around personal commitments, but it also requires strong self-discipline and communication. While you may have autonomy over your daily start and end times, staying aligned with team goals and deadlines is crucial, especially when collaborating with optometrists, office staff, and insurance providers remotely. Regular virtual meetings and clear documentation help ensure everyone is on the same page, and it’s common to use practice management software and shared communication tools to coordinate tasks. Adapting to different time zones and responding promptly to queries are essential parts of maintaining efficiency and accuracy in billing processes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a flex schedule remote optometry billing specialist?

Success in Flex Schedule Remote Optometry Billing requires a solid understanding of medical billing, coding (especially related to optometry), and insurance claim processes, often supported by relevant certifications such as Certified Professional Biller (CPB). Daybreak Health

Durham, NC • Remote

Part-time

Job description

Who This Role Is For

You're a licensed associate therapist (LMHCA or LCSWA) in North Carolina who's already accruing post-graduate clinical hours toward full licensure and wants a part-time remote caseload that matters. You want free supervision, a schedule that fits your life, and none of the administrative burden that slows most early-career clinicians down. Daybreak was built for exactly this stage of your career.

What Makes This Different

  • Free supervision — weekly 1:1 and group supervision, fully covered
  • Guaranteed pay for late cancellations and no-shows
  • $35/hr individual sessions (12+) | $45/hr family therapy
  • Part-time W2 position — real employment benefits, not contractor instability
  • Fully remote — work from anywhere in North Carolina
  • Mon–Fri 3–8 PM schedule — predictable, school-aligned hours
  • No billing, no credentialing, no admin — we handle everything
  • 90% of students say we matched them to the right clinician

The Work

You'll provide evidence-based teletherapy to K–12 students across North Carolina, collaborating with school counselors and families statewide. You'll participate in weekly individual and group supervision, case consultations, and contribute to clinical program development.

What You Need

  • Active LMHCA or LCSWA license in North Carolina (required — we are not able to hire other license types at this time)
  • Post-graduate clinical hours already accrued toward full licensure (required — this role is best suited for associates who are actively logging supervised hours, not candidates just beginning their post-graduate track)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with school-aged youth and families
  • Comfortable with telehealth and EHR systems
  • Available Mon–Fri 3–8 PM

Preferred

  • Experience in CBT, DBT, or similar modalities
  • Prior school-based or youth-focused experience
  • Bilingual Spanish/English fluency
  • Active NPI and CAQH
Pay Range
$35—$45 USD
