Job description

Mechanical / Plumbing Engineer

We’re partnering with a full-service Architecture & Engineering firm in the Northern Virginia / DC region seeking a Mechanical / Plumbing Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work in a collaborative, hands-on environment where team members are involved throughout the entire project lifecycle.

In-office Monday through Thursday flex schedule with remote Fridays

Responsibilities

Prepare mechanical and plumbing system designs for a variety of renovation and facility improvement projects.

Create complete construction documents, including plans, specifications, and supporting calculations.

Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, and electrical teams throughout project development.

Perform construction administration duties.

Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.

EIT required. PE preferred but not required.

6–12 years of experience.

Experience with plumbing design or interest in expanding into plumbing design responsibilities.

Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing terminology, systems, and construction documentation.

Experience producing construction documents in a MEP or architectural environment.

Experience with Revit and AutoCAD

Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.

Local to the Northern Virginia / DC / Maryland region preferred.
