Job description

The Project Engineer supports the design and development of products and product improvements for Flex-N-Gate and its divisions. The role is an integral part of the engineering team that leads projects from initial design concept through development and commercialization
Responsibilities:
•    Prepare monthly/yearly budget
•    Ability to utilize CAD and CAM software and Microsoft Access
•    Understand Bill of Materials
•    Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology, including principals, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design and production of various goods
•    Knowledge of mechanical and design tools
•    Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and costs for maximizing manufacturing
•    Troubleshooting
•    Coordinate safety or regulatory compliance activities
•    Implement design or process improvements as well as run rates.
•    Help with floor layouts/cell designs
•    Work with packaging engineer for initial prototype packaging 
•    Evaluates manufacturing processes, designs new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.
•    Participates actively and effectively in continuous improvement plans related to position responsibilities
•    Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
•    Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. 
•    Performs all other tasks as assigned by management.
•    Conduct regular continuous improvement meetings with multiple departments. Document cost saving improvements for monthly review with senior management.
•    Maintain manufacturing process documentation, Operator Work Instructions, Work Cycle Breakdown, Packaging Instructions, Process Flow Diagrams.
•    Conduct cycle time studies for equipment run at rate. Conduct periodic cycle time studies for manufacturing inefficiencies or improvements.
•    Excellent planning and organizational skills.
•    Effective verbal and written communication skills.
•    Strong leadership abilities, able to lead effective meetings.
•    Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
•    The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as stated in EMS policy CEVPL.00005.
•    The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Quality Management System (QMS) as stated in 
CQAM.00001 – Corporate Quality Manual.

Working Conditions
•    Some travel may be required.
•    Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
