Phoenix-Talent School District #4 is seeking applications for the position of:

Physical Education/Health Teacher - Phoenix High School

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position begins on August 27, 2026. 

This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.

COMPENSATION & BENEFIT HIGHLIGHTS:

  • 190-day per year contract
  • 6 paid holidays per year
  • $49,407 to $98,197, DOE and education.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Teach PE and Health classes to high school students, grades 9-12. 

This position requires a commitment to equitable and inclusive practices in education and demonstrates an unwavering commitment to reducing academic disparities among students that exist because of race, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or family income.       

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Oregon Teaching License with Health and PE endorsements.
  • Preference may be given to those interested in coaching at the high school level.
  • Preference may be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Experience with PLCs, best assessments and classroom practices highly desirable.
  • Physical demands needed: ability to communicate with students, co-workers, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to respond to telephones, bells, students, co- workers, etc.; ability to respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.; ability to read written material; ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs)
