Days/Hours of Work: Monday- Friday; 8am -430pm

Job Summary

Fleet Mechanics perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles according to DOT and OSHA regulations, with a specific focus on medium and heavy duty, diesel tractor and trailer maintenance and repair.

Job Responsibilities

โ€ข    Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on all types of vehicles.
โ€ข    Perform preventative maintenance within fleet department.
โ€ข    Respond to service calls as required.
โ€ข    Creates work orders in SAP and ensures working times and tasks are logged into computer as well as stock parts pulled from inventory. 
โ€ข    Maintain tools and cleanup work area before end of shift.
โ€ข    Participate in and adhere to the required safety training.
โ€ข    Supports departments by communicating out of service vehicles and down times.
 

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of work experience required.
  • Previous experience as a mechanic with diesel tractor and trailer equipment preferred.
  • Experience repairing and diagnosing gasoline or diesel engines, automotive electrical systems and material handling equipment preferred. 
  • Knowledge of airbrake and electrical systems and components preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude. 
  • ASE certification preferred.
  • Valid CDL Class A Driver's License preferred.
  • May be required to supply automotive hand tools.
  • Prior experience using pallet jack or forklift preferred.  Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification upon hire is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Speaking: Constantly with customers (investigates, negotiates, recommends, reports, etc.)
  • Acute Vision: Constantly (observing both near and far, reading documents)
  • Typing: Frequently using electronic devices for day-to-day business
  • Bending/Squatting: Frequently
  • Lifting: Frequent- Lift 50 lbs. or less
  • Driving: travel between customer locations

Pay: $34.00 an hour
