Position Summary:
AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Mobile, Alabama that is an international pioneer in the aerospace industry. They are a leader in designing, manufacturing and delivering aerospace products, services and solutions to customers on a global scale. A commercial aircraft manufacturer, with Space and Defense as well as Helicopters Divisions, they are the largest aeronautics and space company in Europe and a worldwide leader.
Essential Functions:
Flammability Certification and Compliance: 70%
  • Ensure aircraft type design complies with type certification requirements for cabin and cargo material flammability.
  • Support the creation of compliance statements in support of major projects.
  • Define certification requirements to support aircraft modification in accordance with customer requests.
  • Review and approve Airbus internal and vendor test plans and reports, including witnessing testing as required.
  • Align industry guidance with Airbus flammability compliance methods and harmonize methodology within the organization.
  • Provide solutions to issues arising during certification projects and provide accurate reporting/forecasting of technical activity to Management.

Stakeholder and Supplier Management: 20%
  • Coordinate with suppliers during the development phase of equipment to ensure compliance with Airbus requirements.
  • Provide input and feedback on certification matters between equipment suppliers, customers, and Airbus engineering organizations.
  • Strong liaison with other departments both internally and internationally.

Industry Engagement and Digitalization Efforts: 10%
  • Participate in industry working group activity to stay aligned with global standards.
  • Lead digitalization improvement projects within engineering teams, develop efficient methods to automate work and processes.
  • Participate in activities to utilize AI in daily work and processes.

Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years plus experience in aircraft compliance experience.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)
  • Proficiency in Google Suites Products.
  • Ability to write reports, technical memorandums, interface agreements, and work statements using high-level technical English
  • Proficient level of the English language.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in an international setting that resolves problems, facilitates consensus, and focuses on objectives.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, compliance documentation, and technical documentation.
